Of Trailer Launches

The trailer launch of her upcoming movie saw Ananya in a red sari by Arpita Mehta in Hyderabad and in a black cutout dress from Room 24 in Mumbai. She looked nice in both but loved her in the black dress way more.

You?

  1. She was highly uncomfortable in the black dress and it is so incredibly tacky. I can’t believe people hate on lower grade actresses like Urfi Javed for dressing similar but praise these so-called stars for such tasteless clothes.

    • I was going to type the same. The differences between Ananya and Urfi is Anaya pays stylist or designer tons of money and Urfi makes her own outfits, so Ananya’s one fits a wee little better.. Ananya has all the resources to look picture perfect fit, Urfi looks fit in own available resources.

    • Totally agree … Looks like the new set of actresses are forced to / want to bare skin to get noticed until they can prove they can act. Alia is a good example, she never went this route but is well respected for her work…
Your comment on Urfi is bang-on

  2. Both the looks are tackfests.

She is literally naked in the second look. It would have looked good with edgy styling for a fashion or people’s choice awards night but definitely not for a trailer launch.

Cringe dose for the day fulfilled!!

  3. If she draped a dupatta over the black dress, it will look the same as the red saree look. Both tacky. Although with temps being the way they are, perhaps its to keep cool?

  4. Wearing revealing clothes is sexy but being uncomfortable and constantly adjusting and covering and pulling things is not sexy. The black dress was a disaster just because of her discomfort in it. NO!

  5. Since KJo’s nepo kid wore the tacky black outfit, it’s haute couture. If anyone from the 2nd or 3rd tier of Bollywood would have worn this, you girls would have trashed it.

Let’s see if this comments gets posted since HHC is so sensitive about any criticism of the Dharma gang.

  6. when i look at her, i feel she still can not believe she got into movies and doing good…then pulling off such clothes is like dream like for many of us, specially when young and have bod, she is in competition with many other bolly kids with who can dare..
also, i have seen her video in small tube top with sidhant chaturvedi, she was so cold, immediately she asked for his coat or he offered..

  7. Only very thin and flat chested women can wear these outfits. She doesn’t look bad but u can sense she’s extremely uncomfortable

  9. Is she uncomfortable or the commenters!

The post liberalisation young generation seems way more comfortable in the black dress kind of outfit than their predecessors. Give them that.

Long time commenter so done my share of acidic comments but the lets take a magniifying glass to fashion format has kind of got tired and seems more 2010s than 20s. Whether Dakota J wore this or Ananya or Urfi they will find a platform where it is appreciated. Commenters here seem to come just to diss on some actresses.

    • Agreed, but this is a fashion blog, with a comments section. What’s wrong with commenting? Public platform, public event. Fashion is intended to invoke visceral reactions.

      • Did I say it was wrong to comment? Or you can’t comment? I said the comments sometimes border on the personal and are also kind of dated. Comments on a public platdorm are not immune from criticism.

    • I don’t know who comes up with dress designs/ dress codes. Men are always covered from neck to ankle at all professional/ formal events and I don’t know why women feel the need/ pressurized to expose the maximum/ look sexy, no matter the event.

  10. why are bollywood celebs overly dressed at every event. i mean come on. a dress that belongs to a night club, lands beside a chappal wearing looking equally cool dude. it feels like celebs have to always dress up no matter the occasion, airport, local outing, dinner, shows, appearances etc etc….we could learn so much from the south industry. n from hollywood too, celebs dress casually most of the time. their appearances at comic con, or airports anywhere else other than award shows , are completely casual. this is not including kardashians..heck even they dress better. its like we so desperate for attention, look at me.. look at me…ufff

      • Not what I meant! She is never given a fair chance no matter what. Other girls dress like her and get some criticism but comments on her posts are borderline personal.

        • Yea I felt the same.. my first impression was the same as HHC’s..red sari was average but she looked smoking in the black dress. And then I saw the comments about how Ananya is always showing her body, bare chested, nepo kid… I have said this before as well… people can like or dislike a dress but this section is very toxic with all the demeaning personal comments.
And no I’m not an ananya fan.

      • Fortunately not. My name is up n visible. I’m one of those criticising Ananya but only due to lack of style, never cared to make personal comments on people. When Tanisha, Malika, Bipasha, n the likes did sensual movies, bare clothing they were upfront bashed n stuff, now with Ananya, Deepika, Tara, Disha getting similar comments it’s being read too much into, like oh personal comments, oh prudes. I feel like these days personalities can be drawn through dressing choices, cause nothing more comes by of these new lot of “actors” n it’s true so all fan girls / supporters of choice can chill.

  11. I understand the pressure is ON when you are newbie OR are an actress for public events. Younglings want to look stylish, agreed. But, why do stylists NOT advice the ladies, that style can be absolutely comfortable, stylish and edgy as well without revealing and most importantly feeling uncomfortable?

  13. She had her hand glued the entire time to the point where the slit began in that black dress. Totally uncomfortable.

That said, I know she’s a nepo kid and Urfi is an outsider, and there’s a trend of bashing Nepo people and supporting anyone else in comparison, but what Urfi wears is a tackfest by any standard. I’d like to see even one “Urfi, You Go girl!” gang to actually wear what she wears for generating those paid-pap clicked photos and reels.

  14. Ananya was extremely uncomfortable in the cut out dress….that is always the problem with her….If you aren’t comfortable, do something different….I miss when people tried to truly wear something different and put in effort instead of just showing up in the almost identical looking cut out dresses almost mirroring each other. David Koma, YSL, Cheetah Rivera, Iris Van Harpen, Alaia, Valentino all have some great pieces that nobody seems to want to experiment with.

  15. Gosh why is Ananya doing this to herself? She can carry off any outfit , why the need to do drastic cut out dresses or that excuse for a blouse??

  16. I quite like the red saree look, she looked super uncomfortable in the black dress from viral bhayani’s videos.
