Anand Kabra: LFW Summer/Resort 2010
Consider yourself warned, we are going to be effusive with this collection. Loved every bit of it.
Minis, jumpsuits, skirts, kaftans, trousers, jackets… all separates were tailored, structured and yet, easy. Resort anyone? Also, the clever use of embellishment and asymmetry won us over.
My favorite had to be the pre-stitched saris with the long cholis/blouses. Who says an updated sari has to be blinged out paired with an itty-bitty blouse? The saris on Kabra runway packed a heavy punch. Perfect and so very sensual.
My Mastercard is itching to be taken for a ride.

i love the pieces in the second row!
note to celebs – these are the kind of blouses where you can drape the front more loosely without trying too hard to look sexy
I luuuuv your review on Anand kabra’s collection 🙂 And yup I am biased..hahaha!
Anand kabra has been consistently good in the last 2-3 seasons-Dia wears his clothes a lot
i think it’s the affiliation to fellow hyd’badi’s.
Another hyd’badi designer sashikant Naidu showcased this yr and his collection was absolutely lust worthy 🙂
LOVE the print- orange, midnight blue, grey tie- dye. I like all the outfits, except the beige one on Lisa Haydon. Not sure how they’d translate in real life though, and just curious- how is this a Resort collection?
I love these clothes, Anand Kabra is the best out of the lot.
Ooh, I love that nude sari, and that mini dress.
It looks stiff and uptight and totally not my style. Cant imagine spottings of these clothes on anyone outside a runway.
The second model in the second row (golden, skirt and blingy dupatta) is actually a south indian “half sari” or “pavadai dhavani” just made shorter and blingy.
Finally a breath of fresh airAnand designs r outstandingly creative , absolutely beautiful and totally different from other designers …. congrats to anand kabra 🙂
Looks great. Wish we could see a better picture.
I’m very picky about runway designs, but that first blue sari is stunning! The blouse is pretty unwearable, but the sari itself is elegant and contemporary – qualities that are often lacking in sarees these days.
HOLLLYYY GUACAMOLLEEE!! *breathes* the mid-night blue!! YES, it stole my heart :O this is niiiceee. I agree word for word with everything you mentioned. Also, like the last, short blue outfit. looks so light, flowy n summer 🙂
i dont like any of them.too dark
its quite ugly, over the top… and tacky finish! i was at the show.. the buttons were falling off the saris like confetti!
