In Advait

Amyra attended the first look event of her upcoming series wearing a blue silk top with a printed ruched skirt from Advait and ankle-strap sandals. Not a fan of the ruching but the issue here was the length on Amyra. The skirt looked fine on the model but not so much on her.

You like the skirt?

  1. This is not a great look to begin with but can you guys quit putting the model pic side by side with someone who is not that model, and then say that it looks fine on the model but not on the real person who wore it?
There is probably a huge chance that it’s just not something that suits her but comparing it with a model whose pic is also likely photoshopped, does a huge disservice to that person.

    • That’s a bit disingenuous. The whole point of a model pic is to indicate what an outfit would look like in the ideal situation/ body/ lighting/what have you. The comparison is not to shame the person wearing it but to illustrate if the outfit works on the person — which is precisely the stylist’s job — or not, not scold the wearer for not having the same body type as the model.

  2. How interesting! I thought it looks gorgeous on her and better than how the model sported ! Somehow she fine tunes such that the outfit looks more wearable and has a nice earthy feel about it wouldn’t change a thing!

  3. Exactly. And her body shape is different, naturally the skirt will pull and tug at different spots. I think it looks fine. It’s so much better than the tween dresses we see these days.
