In DvF
After attending the Ayesha Takia reception in a dowdy floral sari, Nandita sure was a delight in this DvF strapless maxi.
We loved it. You?
P.S. Since a lot of you questioned, most of the ladies are in dresses because it was a day wedding in a church. That’s why the summery dresses.

this is not appropriate for a church weedin! too casual.
Why is everyone wearing gowns and dresses to an Indian wedding? Gauri Khan wore a Missoni dress to the Sangeet and now this? It doesn’t seem appropriate.
Priya,
It was a day wedding at a church which is why everyone is wearing dresses.
I know that it was a day wedding but this outfit seems like something one would wear at lunch in the Hamptons after a game of tennis. Not wedding appropriate.
I think she looks nice…I would describe her style as ‘understated elegance’ I’ve never seen her smile though. This wedding would have been a good opportunity to showcase an original design from her own collection.
BTW what is is appropriate attire for church weddings?
Its a nice, summery dress. Looks good on Nandita. Can’t wait for the day when she gets that white out of her hair..it looks awful.
annie,
The norm is to wear light summery dresses because most of the time the weddings are held outside and it can get hot. Evening weddings tend to be more formal in nature…
reminds me of the nanette lepore cheetah dress…
Nice.. but nothing really that shakes me… and i have always felt a bit different about her hair as well
Great dress. I just wish she had done a better job with the hair and makeup. She looks unfinished.
annie, to add to Payal’s comment. People at least in the US tend to wear dresses that cover a little bit of your shoulders when they go to weddings. Off-shoulder dresses may be considered inappropriate by some conservative churches.
She looks just O.K. I mean really..does it hurt to smile??? I was browsing all her pics on HHC and seriously this lady NEVER smiles. Now that would have been a perfect accessory for this otherwise O.K dress.
strictly for this picture:
she is stepping out of the car. hardly the time to be expecting photographers and smiling pleasingly!
she looks tired, haggard, old and worn out…get sum rest girl, and stop drinkin n partyin so much…
i don’t think this dress is inappropriate for a wedding. in fact i think of all the people who attended this wedding, the ones that i liked best were those in these pretty flowy summer dresses: katrina and this lady here (let’s forget her hair for a bit). gul’s outfit looks pretty promising (relatively speaking). am still trying to figure out what karisma had on, and if that was a version of the gucci hysteria in her hand?
I just do not understand the designers who wear other designers! Now why would I buy her stuff when she does not even wear her own stuff?
The dress is too casual & the hair awful.
why r so many bollywood actresses marrying in a church??? Some new trend or something i guess
im probably going to sound very mean, but she looks like an old hag coz of the hair… and that fake tan!
again big fat Indian wedding not the Ascot races….totally inappropriate….
@ swee2
What’s so wrong about getting married in a church? (my question is based on your 3 question marks :-))
too casual for a weddding..i think
She looks like a poor man’s Jessica Simpson.
Firstly this event is NOT at a church its a restaurant called Olive in Bandra. Secondly the reason that its a christian wedding is that Amrita’s mom Joyce is Christian and her dad is South Indian Christian. The other wedding is tomo which is a Nikah since Shakeel her hubby is a muslim.
Even Malaika had a white wedding which incidentally was in a church, St Michaels in Mumbai.
Ok now coming to Nandi she looks great the dress is very nice, the hair is a off considering it normally looks good.
PS: The Sangeet is tonight at Aurus in Juhu and i assure you they will all be in more formal indian wear.
I don’t understand why every single celebrity is getting slammed for dressing inappropriately at the wedding. Hello, if everyone is dressed casually, it was probably the dress code. After all, it was basically just a quick ceremony followed by lunch at a restaurant.
I like this dress. Why doesn’t she get rid of that gray streak in her hair? Why is it like that?!
i actually really like this dress on her..and i don’t see why it’s not appropriate for an informal summer wedding…the only thing that’s off for me is the hair….don’t like the color at all!
@ Missy. Oh I didnt mean that at all.. Was just curious, i wasnt aware of the fact that Amrita and Malaika have Christian roots. 🙂 Nevertheless, Christian or no christian, their choice, i was just curious! Sorry if that sounded offensive in any way…
you know i’m sure they had a casual them going, which i must say i like! i would so love to attend a close wedding, dressed casual, it would be so refreshing! and at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters on ur wedding day is that the people you love turned up! oh and ofcourse u urself are vewy happy! 😉
pretty dress
@cracker: not that it matters, but their dad is Punjabi (Arora is a punjabi last name) But both Malaika and Amrita are practicing Christians since their mom, as everybody mentioned, is Christian.
what is up with all these flower dotti dresses, they are ugly, and she on the other hand has a very unique unconvential face, very pretty, I wonder how Karisma felt when she walked with her pretty dress and Karisma with her buble yellow red disaster, why karisma why u did that I alway admired you but you let me down
