The cast of the Les Elephants Dans La Brume (Elephants in the Fog) attended their photocall at Cannes on Wednesday with Jasmin wearing a red sari and activist Pushpa Thing Lama who also stars in the move wearing a cream sequin sari.
Loved finally seeing a sari worn elegantly.
Pushpa’s sari is a signature Dhaka one but has been embellished with sequins.

Still better than some of the ghastly outfits I’ve seen over the past few days in the name of celebrating Indian craft.
Please tell me Pushpa’s is a handloom and my Cannes will be made.

They all look graceful showing up specifically to bring their movie to world stage and not crash, take pics in stairways with hideous outfits. Purposeful outing.
This. Maybe HHC should feature only actors who have a movie on at Cannes (oh wait, that’d mean no Ash — the horror!)

actually featuring or even showing up at cannes like places is ok, however irrelevant, but the whole ‘representing India on a international stage’ crap is fake! your earning a level up for self and that’s about it, by misrepresenting India at the most.
They are all looking fabulous!
It’s a Dhakai and not Dhaka? And the sequin work really messed it up IMO
I believe the Nepali folks refer to it as the Dhaka sari.
