In Manish Malhotra

Alia attended the pro Kabaddi finals today wearing Manish Malhotra long kurta and pants. While she looked uber-pretty in the desi look, the platform wedges weighed the look down a bit. We say a bit only cuz the nude color wasn’t too obtrusive.

  1. Dear P&P: I urge you not to use the term ‘nude’ to denote ‘skin colour’..it is a loaded term that reeks of the white privilege.

      • The word for clothing/shoes came about to describe a colour that matched a whiter skin tone. That’s what’s racist about it- that “nude” never refers to a brown nude, or black nude. So Nids is very correct when she says it refers to white privilege- that nude is a term co-opted to refer to only Caucasian skin.

    • We Indians are more racist among our own race people when it comes to skin color, why bring the Whites. lol. Anyway, it is only about the shoe color that P&P are referring to and I am not sure how you derived it to be referring to skin color.

    • Agree totally. I often see pre-teen girls in wedding all done like her and then because maybe they are too young, they can’t carry/ have pencil or proper heels.. so they go for awful wedges that don’t complement the attire at all! But then they are young so it’s fine. Alia seriously should stop trying like only she knows how to give an outfit a quirky look.

Also, the same old hairstyle and makeup. Lifted leg position is only worsening the look. I don’t like the neckline of the dress either.

  3. This girl is unpredictable! One day she’s flaunting those legs and looking Super teen-ish in a rompers and the next day all elegant and lady like. Very lovely look. Will excuse the wedges.
