Alia hosted an awards event on Sunday evening and while she walked the red carpet in custom stitched sari from Gaurav Gupta, the actual event saw her in a pantsuit also from the designer. Me, i preferred her in the suit. While I liked the mogra style lining on the pallu and blouse, wasn’t loving that pleat design on the skirt.

The saree is giving very Raj Kapoor vibes. Nothing nice about it.
The pantsuit is so much better.
Love the suit, saree is ok but can’t like a bikini like top for a blouse.
Another micro blouse bralette, with a sorry excuse of a saree. Meh. The mogra details also look weird.
The saree looks super funny and frumpy. and the mogra looks like it was a stitched mogra border that ripped midway through the event and started falling apart. Looks very very silly.
As for the suit look…sorry, Alia cannot carry these take-me-serious formals however hard she tries. Its probably because the minute she starts the talk, and teh body language kicks in…. everything starts to unravel like the mogra, and its so not her. Desi formals would have worked infinitely better.

That saree is lost among mogra fields. She is giving Shakuntala vibes.
Wearing a white bra and a satin petticoat and showing up at events is high fashion? For once, I want the male celebrities to show up in their underwear to formal events.
The blouse dikhao drape is so tacky.
And Alia must stick to her style , this pantsuit is so not her.
