In Sabyasachi

The simple streak continues for Aishwarya who wore a beige Sabyasachi sari contrasting it with a green blouse. While, I don’t like the contrast blouse, it was still a much better look than Deepika’s bright red.

      • “Aunty” is such a misused word in India. What negative connotations! The English dictionary defines aunty as “father’s or mother’s sister or a female relative”.

Can we please leave this word alone? 🙁

        • if you think she is aunty…than what do you call ordinary ladies in their 30s????

@you are so right…aunty is a very respectable word for older ladies, its a shame that some people use it in a wrong way!!

  1. I guess she’s obsessed with the orange hair. Very dedicated to it to keep dying the roots constantly the same awful fake looking color.

The hair ruins every single outfit she wears. It looks so bad!

    • Agreed… i was so happy that she wore something low key and beautiful!!! But then there is this story with the hair color… a sad story at that.

  2. Lovely saree, nice combo with the blouse. Hair is again the same. She is looking different these days. She has been wearing the red bangle (the Bengali one) almost everyday. I love those.

    • I agree. I think Sabyasachi has a lot to offer but these ‘stars’ pick the same looks over and over again and now I’m just blase about another SM sighting. Ash is an example – she looks the exact same in Manish Malhotra or Sabyasachi.
PS – Someone needs to tell her that since she’s launched her entire career based solely on her face, and it really is a stunning face at that, she should really play it up by pulling her hair back. And dark hair will really make her eyes pop a la Megan Fox.

    • You bet Bollywood stars ham it up in their ‘bahu’ roles once they get hitched. There’s nothing wrong with sporting the sindoor, it’s charming; but there’s no need to go overboard.

  5. I love Aish. when she dresses like this, she just looks at her best. I’m sure I’ve seen Vidya in an almost identical saree though, but its still a stunning saree and I love the blouse contrast and the jewelery shes wearing with it, she can really carry it off without appearing OTT.

  7. had a qn – when you wear net/transparent sarees like this – what is the standard for the petticoat? – in these pics, you can see the petticoat end – doesn’t look nice, or is that how it should be?

    • you generally would wear a petticoat that would accentuate the color of the netting so in this case she would wear that cream camel colored petticoat. I think the only reason you can see the petticoat is because the red carpet is lighted immensely..but for us average folk you shouldn’t be able to the netting in normal lighting.

  8. She looks good and loved the contrast blouse.
Apart from that, Iam a regular viewer of this site and whenever Aishwarya is on this site , the number of comments are huge in number, so all I can say is, “love her or hate her but you just can’t ignore her” 🙂

  9. She looks stunning…. saree is superb, timeless and elegant. the contrast blouse makes it interesting. An aunty would have worn a black, beige or red blouse. the jewellery simply perfect…the sindoor and bangles add a commoner’s touch…love it!! well done. (i blame the flash for the color of the hair…she should do something about that)

  10. That blouse is probably one of the most ill fitted ones I’ve seen on this site. Am surprised no one’s mentioned it. Besides that she looks lovely but then what else is new.

  11. she looks simple & nice, red colored earrings would have looked nice as the gold earrings are not adding any color to the peachy sari and may be a even a small red bindi would have added some nice color.

  12. Ok Ash take note. Abu Sandeep, Anamika, Pratima Gaurav are best for Indian. Manish and Neeta make you look SAD! As for Sabya, we’re getting a bit tired. Go for the first three. You are too gorgeous for any other mediocrity.
