In Sabyasachi

Aishwarya attended an event in Dubau as part of her ambassador duties and was seen falling back to her favorite designer, Sabyasachi, for the event. Not that we should complain. She looked so much better in the black gown.

  1. I wish the gown were completely black.. she would have hit it out of the park then.. There is so much going on at the bottom of the lehenga that makeup starts looking heavy-handed.

I also feel that there should be a lehenga embargo for a couple of months. People wear lehenga to events where a sari/salwar-kameez/a sharply tailored suit would have sufficed.

  3. Does Aish looks good? Yes! Am I loving it ? No!
This is a safe look she has tried and tested before. Nothing to write about. Having said that, definitely prefer safe over other ghastly outfits.
Interesting that she is sticking to monochromatic looks. Paris white, Dubai black

  4. She looks royalty.. sabyasachi looks regal on ash and Rani.. they wear it to it’s best, on most others sabyasachi outfits looks heavy and over conceptualised. Love the multiborder embroidery on a full black outfit and the Dupatta.. I’m loving this a lot, the way it’s draped, accessories everything.
A minor issue, couldn’t the top be pulled up to avoid the forced cleavage.. just takes away from the look.

  5. You would wish woman of her caliber, success, and platform would not have body image issues. It is clear that she does not like her arms and makes sure they are covered 90% of the time.

    • I don’t think that she has body image issues courtesy of her outing on the Cannes carpet 9 years back. Not to mention that she took her time to lose weight.

However, i do think it’s natural for a person to wear clothes that accentuate their best features – In Ash’s case, they are her height, slim waist, long neck complete with a hint of bosom (she was seen pulling her blouse up in the videos so I believe it wasn’t supposed to be this low).

    • Maybe that’s ok? I don’t see being confident as a good for all statement.. she likes to possibly cover her body in places she’s not very comfortable of.

    • 100% you can tell with her body language she isnt confident. I do wish she accepts her body which will relay in better fashion choices. Btw this look is such a sight for sore eyes after what wore a few days ago smh

    • She is also in the Middle East so might have taken the conservative route. Either ways, accentuating our best features is what we all do so more power to her to dress the way she feels the best.

    • I agree with Dee. I feel like its been a decade since she has been covering herself with way too much fabric (think abu jani bling). Even here, i think she could have easily skipped the shawl. I would love to see her in sheath dresses or cotton sarees (pallu pinned, hair in a loose bun or braid).
She is so gorgeous and i wish she had the confidence to pull of better fashion choices and not drown herself in fabric all the time.
Like Dee said, i didn’t expect someone of her caliber to be so body conscious.

  6. N the tent is back. I always thought, Aishwarya bought A game whenever she dressed up for international events. But it seems like she prefers her tents/ blacks/ red that wears in India.
I don’t know why she’s so conscious of her figure, first the white atrocity n now this! Yes, her body shape had changed, but that doesn’t mean She should start hiding under miles of garment. There are so many silhouettes that would suit her.

    • Her body shape is fine, she is hella sexy and should own it. And there’s always shapewear too if she is a bit worried as well. I actually think Aish would look good in the Skims Lounge wear dress. Somebody just needs to give her confidence booster.

  7. Not the biggest fan of this look + heavy handed makeup. But I’ll admit, this is the better look of her past few outings.

It’s beyond ridiculous – and even criminal – to not dress “the most beautiful woman in the world” in the most stylish & beautiful clothes.

  8. Nope, just nope. Its gaudy, loud and tacky. Can she not just for once do well tailored pant suit and slick hair tied back with makeup much more suited to the event in question. Because I don’t think anybody would particularly want to buy lehenga seeing this iteration of styling.

  9. I think Aishwarya hasn’t hit upon a good stylist or lets her mind get into the way – way too much!! It’s time she risks her look but does it well too on on the biggest platforms in the world!

  10. She looks great, I understand makeup had to be noticeable because it is a loreal event, but why this heavy bridal gown to a ‘stand up against harassment’ event

  11. I actually think she and her stylist don’t know how to dress her body type. Yes, she’s a different shape than her model days- which is totally OK. We’ve all been through phases where our shape has changed. Its time for her to find what she is comfortable and looks good in. If that means covering up, so be it. Unfortunately, her wearing tent like Elvira/ halloweeny/ salem witch costumey outfits isn’t doing her any favors.

  12. She looked beautiful.. only wish the border would have been thinner instead of nearly halfway up the garment .. she is making appearance after 2 yrs, so I am happy to see her in HHC

  13. The Arab/Russian oligarch aesthetic. Good to see Sabya branch out.

Make up also along the lines, I don’t know why I cannot unsee the eyebrows.

  14. I know Aishwarya is naturally fair, but she would look amazing with a tan. In picture 4, she looks deathly white – maybe due to lighting. I would love to see more Asian actresses with brown skin and healthy tans…. (maybe a controversial opinion!)
