Pretty In Pink

Comment image 53

Aishwarya was a sight for sore eyes at this reception (for reasons that you’ll find out when we post more) in her simple pink suit. Some may not like the inverted v-pattern but after the numerous heavy-duty anarkalis, this was a refreshing change.

P.S. I can’t place but I feel we’ve seen her in this before. Catch a pic of the cut-out detail on the back, inside.

Update: ‘MSR’ reminds us that we’ve seen this on Ash back in 2007.

        • I am not an Aishwarya fan, and I think this look is ordinary, but I never felt she “cannot live without skin showing”.
I mostly feel she is drab and has little personal style, but is definitely not into skin show.

          • For as long as i have known it was always over the top cleavage exposure or the bikini blouses, low off shoulder dresses or backless bloused or salwar kameez

In fact some of here Cannes dresses have always had embarrassingly low cleavages to the point of exposing everything. I don’t think she carries off those gowns well .they look tacky actually.

She is so beautiful naturally but her wannabe clothes spoil everything.

    • i think so too. Not as bad some say here. The huge cut out could have been smaller and her hair could have been less orange.
But i am sure she looked gorgeous in person !

  1. I dont mind her repeated narkali suits in MM,but this one is really an eye sore…she likes these type og blingy outfits, like her saree wore at ‘Padmasri’ function..:(

  2. the cut out in the back ruins it for me. if the the cut wasn’t as large then maybe it would look less like this is the work of a tailor who failed to complete his task.

  3. This woman is clueless about fashion.

If it was anyone else, the look wud be meh, but since it’s Ash, she is a sight for sore eyes, cmon, the silver/blingy accessories and that weird back cutout…it’s called trying too hard to be sexy, but falling flat on ur face.

  5. love the cut on the back it’s sexy…..BUT the outfit on the whole is catastrophic!!!! it makes her look way tooooo old!!! C’mon Ash u can do much better!!!

  6. This is so boring, you can pick up these style outfits a dime a dozen in India. With all her money and designers lining up to dress her you’d think she could do better than this?!!

  7. Is it only me or anyone else also feels that she always show up on wedding receptions in outfits she had worn years ago…….I can remind myself of:

    1) Shilpa Shetty’s reception—–pink chiridaar with silver emroidrary onneckline and shoulders.

    2) Laila khan reception——-light mehndi green chudidaar with silver golden buttons on front neckline (it was Fardeen Khan’s sister’s reception- I might be wrong with her name)

    3) And this one.

And why the hell she dresses up so badly when everyone is so dressed up???

    • ha ha, thats a lot of knowledge on Aish’s outfits!! I just think she’s not really all that into fashion and just can’t be bothered to buy new outfits everytime she goes somewhere. Which is fine for the ‘average’ person but when you’re bollywoods no1 star(or so people say)you really should make a little bit more effort.

      • I can understand not buying new outfits for every wedding/reception. But what’s with pulling several years old outfits out of the attic, that too ones that are really more suited for a visit to a mall, for every single wedding? She’s worn plenty of outfits in the last one year that would have been totally appropriate for any of these weddings. If she had to repeat outfits, she could have picked one of those.

    • Manny – u r spot on!! I have also observed her wearing clothes from long ago to weddings . For award shows and premieres and publicity appearances designers might be tripping over each other sending her wardrobes or outfits to showcase. For someone’s wedding, I doubt any designer would be lending her clothes. Therefore, out comes something from her own closet!! 🙂

  8. P&P, why be so cynical always?

Compare her with the bride, Aishwarya is 100 times better dressed. And I don’t think pink looks as lovely on anybody else.

  9. It’s ok, not as bad as those MM anarkalis, but she should do something with the hair, like get a mod sassy haircut and reduce the makeup by a kilo at least.

  10. The colour suits her, and the style makes her look tall and slim, but the kalis in front are awful. As for the back cut-out, its not too flattering on her, but I have seen 60 plus women (and not in great shape) who wear low back blouses, so this is not too bad.

  11. That has to be one of the ugliest suits I have ever seen! reminds me of the anarkalis that were popular when I was in high schoool, designed by the local darzi. This suit is really really ugly. And she looks weirdly fat in the bottom left pic. Or is it too much Spanx?

  12. I don’t think the colour suits her at all. It’s too bright. That’s a cheap looking suit by bollywood standards. Opening at back is tooooo large and she is so broad shouldered… should have been peek-a-boo. I don’t like her make-up either. Shame, she’s such a pretty face. Look at Kareena, mother of two, elegance and style

  13. I know my response will be unrelated to the post PnP but they do however, concern some of the comments…. just wanted to say i miss the times when there were no sarcastic or nasty personal comments on here, just plain observation on fashion but i guess with vast readership, these are a given 🙂

  14. I think she looks fine, but kind of like she didn’t put a lot of thought into her outfit/look. Just out of curiosity, what kind of bra would one wear with the outfit since it has such a bit open back?

    • You can get the cup support in the suit itself. Most indian tailors would do it, i would guess. Or get a stick on bra front where the cups has stick-ons on the side.

  15. gurlz stop discussing abt the dresses.. she will never get it right… but u knw i thnk the reason of her wearing these long ill fitted anarkali these days is sumthing else.. i mean .. she is preeggyy maybe.. look at the pics closely.. she is wearinh dupatta in full and also the below left pic shows her broad tummy..
