The sun didn’t rise from the west, I didn’t wake up 5lbs lighter but things around me have definitely changed. First, Kareena in a non-Manish Malhotra and now the last person I would have expected to see wearing one, IS! Yes, Mr. Malhotra may have dressed Aishwarya for Endhiran but this is quite a first: wearing his design outside of films. What’s more surprising is that I like it on her.
Update: AB Jr. walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra at the benefit event which explains why Aishwarya wore Manish Malhotra. Not that much of a curveball now, is it. 😛

ROFL!!! I have given up on MM… but Abhishek actually makes Aishwarya look good in this picture.
That velvet jacket and still stuck in that “3D glasses” mode wants to make me throw up… geez! move on already.
and its not even a well coordinated velvet jacket… somewhere some office reception couch is missing.

Like the makeup and hair and thinking that the dress would look good in the purple that is used in the sleeves instead of the pepto bismol colors…
the deeper shade of pink that the panels have been tied and dyed in would have looked much more elegant than the annoying shade of powder pink.
She is simply gorgeous. The color and fit is nice. Can’t say the same for the one she is wearing for Shilpa Shetty’s reception.

But…Is it just me or is ethnic wear (saris and salwars/ anrakalis not kurtis/ India-inspired dresses) making a huge comeback on the red carpet after about 5-10 years?
Considering that most Indian Designers usually (and there ARE exceptions) design very mediocre (at the best) dresses with pretty clumsy silhouttes and a lot of Bbay socialites over accesorize and go OTT with the bling (which is much more tolerable with Indian clothes where ornate looks graceful) I think that this is a good thing.
Now if only, only we could ban MM!!! Seriously if there is one person who is single handedly responsible for Bolly’s (sometimes) less-than-comendable (read: flashy and tawdry) dress sense it is him!!!
I have no problem with changing it up, bikini blouses, tunic dresses etc ( only when they are tastefully done) but must we bastardize graceful, elegant Indian clothing with overdoses of velvet and very loud bling?

What is it that they find appealing in his flashy / blingy / OTT costumes… and I deliberately use the word COSTUMES … the things he makes do not qualify as CLOTHES at all!!
The fact that gold and bling is muted makes it work. The colour looks amazing against her skin. The changed hair is refreshing. She looks lovely.

The fat hair is on a slippery slope to Shahnaz Hussain craziness.
And I’m not loving the oufit much either. For one, that fabric that cuts right above the chest makes her look deflated – come to think of it, I’ve never seen it look good on anyone. And again, as is ever the case with MM, there’s way too much bling.
MM needs to study Sabya to learn how to use fabrics and colors intelligently, and how to do gold without blinding people.
I would’ve said so myself were it not for the shoes she’s wearing.

I dont think the heels have anything to do with her being prego. It’s easy to wear heels in the early months.

I don’t like pink personally but it looks good on her and I like the hair and makeup and shoes (those are some high heels).

The outfit it OK but I think she looks fabulous. I’ve always found that Ash has been the one person who can pile on the jewelry and the bling and still make it work. I think it’s that face of her’s, nothing can compete with that face.

I just love Aishwarya. She’s always special whenver she steps out. I don’t always like her clothing but everything else makes up for it.
Aishwarya always glows in colors, and the style is something we haven’t seen her in, which makes the look work for me. Plus she does have that je ne sais quoi that makes an outfit that would look rather meh on anybody else appear graceful and feminine.

found the dress quite tacky and typical looking…not like at all. and the make up is ghastly…..abhishek seems to be trying too hard to look chill but ends up looking like a pale replica of his dad.
It took me a while to pin this down..her hair looks like watered down version of Shahnaz Husain’s mane.
ash looks good but its an ugly dress. Pink with copper , gold, purple. yellow, its too much. Its an ugly pink . Jer face never looks bad. She always looks pretty.
this is very similar to a dress worn by karishma kapoor in a post which compared Karishma’s maternity wear with amrita arora’s.

Ok, she looks good. I love the hair and makeup. I like the colour of her outfit. BUT….. and I usually don’t have a BUT to say for Aishwarya.. BUT… I HATE HOW the design just totally cuts right across the top of the bust. It just makes her (and anyone else who would wear something like this) look pregnant. I’m not saying she looks pregnant or she is.. but it’s cut to make everyone look like that. It’s so odd. Why did MM do that :S.

I find it a horrendously ugly dress but somehow she makes it look cute. I do so hate the mahogany hair though…makes her look like those old women in India who end up with orange hair because they repeatedly use henna to cover their grey. It’s not that bad on Aish of course but black hair brings out her striking features. Brown hair totally dilutes her looks. Bleh
