Aishwarya headed to Cannes early Friday morning and was seen wearing a sequin blazer from Dhruv Kapoor paired with black pants and a silk cami. A Lovebirds coat and a Gucci tote finished out her outfit.

Meh…her hair is so shiny though.
She looks alright. What concerns me is the tag Mohit Rai. Another mid level stylist, who is only going to further or promote brands that pay him. And lets be honest brands in Mohit Rai’s repertoire would be brands that would just want visibility and publicity for the sake of it not for the design. So riding on this annual moment for a few short lived moments of fame. I believe she could be in Irth or Ithr whatever that situation is and I am so ready to be underwhelmed.
Its so interesting to see how for the benefit of mid level professionals in the business a movie icon’s image is diminishing. Its probably Archana who is putting these names forward at this point, but Aishwarya is also to be blamed, she has worked with Anaita so many times why not her. Or just pick up a phone a month before the festival, call your friends at Armani, Gucci, Cavalli or Elie Saab, be like I will be there get the clothes ready, I cross my heart and swear they would be more than happy to oblige. Oh those days of fine finishing touches, Armani Prive gowns, Elie Saab couture, Gucci Premiere, Cavalli to die for, Ferragamo clutches, Jimmy choo shoes Chopard jewels.
Once just once I would like to see her dressed by a design house that understands her stardom and is well versed in dressing movie stars. Stars like Aishwarya were better off without stylists. These stupid Falguni, Chapra stylists just ruined it.
She had great creative relationships with the best fashion houses in the world and now its just a theme park every year. Sad, I hope I am proven wrong.

I sooooo understand . I am already dreading the let down but also praying this year it’s different .Hope no more full body suits and capes and gift wrapping material or gold foils . Really want her to shine and bring back the glory days .

Aishwarya only wears hideous anarkalis in Indian clothes
Never seen her in any traditional weave or gorgeous sarees. It’s always some black sequinned disaster.
A female actor probably India’s finest today is the poster child of elegant eclectic saree fashion. Every outing of hers is to die for.
And even her western fashion can run circles around Aishwarya. She has the attitude, Style and. Chutzpah

It is impossible for me to see Aishwarya as a fashion icon. She is not!
Not in her movies nor outside at events
I am sorry Kohl, you seem to have completely missed the point. Whoever you are referring to can be the poster child to anything but can never match the level of Aishwarya. Lets get this straight once and for all, Aishwarya is the last legitimate female movie star India has produced, the fact that at 52 she is still considered and talked about in the same breath as the new entrants, the fact that an endorsement of hers has singularly created a benchmark for new age actresses to aspire to is something that has not been seen and will not or can not be replicated anymore. Why is that?
So the times have changed her stardom and fascination amongst the people and also in the larger framework of creative industries is unique. She is one of the great beauties of cinema to ever exist, she single-handedly invented what a contemporary actress should invoke in the audiences with her choices in film, her conduct publicly, her femininity and the absolute stubborness to do what she wants to and at her own pace. So this page covering her and always featuring her is something you will just have to live with. Whoever you are mentioning is just simply put too awami too relatable and too regular folk like, everything that Aishwarya is not, henceforth a legit movie star. As far as the fashion its frustrating, like I said before Aishwarya has great equations with some of the big fashion houses of the world, heck no one was wearing french or Italian couture in this region let alone India before her (talking about artists) so she should get back to her inherent instinct of posh movie star sheen.
As far as shiny anarkalis are concerned, she doesn’t want to wear saris, she is most comfortable in an anarkali like silhouette, she has never been known to don weaves, she likes bling and a lot of old school movie stars do. Deal with it.

Just this airport look of hers where she is heading to Cannes is proof how much interest and attention she garners .The number of comments on this post/engagement is more than the comments on other star appearances on actual Cannes red carpet ( no shade there but facts ). And it takes immense grace restraint and star quality to match her . Attitude Style and chutzpah doesn’t always cut it for the kind of causes she supports and brands she endorses internationally .
You can’t be Comparing the two .
Aish will always be a fashion icon to a lot of us who grew up watching how she carried herself with dignity and it’s not just about clothes

So much so that my friends even made a meme on me about that . I always love to read your fashion critique and decode looks and credit to you for introducing so many brands and fabrics and designers .

We are aware that the “brand” and its perfectly digitized and bulls-eyed model uses her specifically to carry the brand. And by paying big bucks to her, her team, and to a bunch of other brand building entities, you the “brand”underscore that there is investment specifically in her. Therefore, it is only by making it about her that you the brand can succeed in getting a return on that investment. There are several such celebrities you use for this. But you did pick her and invested in her. So it is about her. You are riding on her celebrity. Consumer insights result in particularly ridic styling for her specifically.

and NO her beauty hasn’t faded, it’s not the weight gain or the age either. Those things are just privileges of being a woman who has lived and is loved and is a mother.
This is totally, completely and absolutely just about fashion.
She needs someone who does justice to her beauty, stature and recognition.
