The much awaited moment that we all were waiting for finally happened. The Queen of Cannes walked the red carpet on Thursday evening wearing a blue Amit Aggarwal gown and a metallic throw worn around her hands. The makeup was kept simple with no red lip in sight.
The color was terrific and she looked good!
My only feedback is about the gown and those leaf like parts around the shoulder. I wish it the neckline was simpler. Just my two cents.

Wowza…She looks incredibly nice and the blue looks *amazing* on her. Hair, make up and jewelry are so on point, and she owns teh look head to toe. Truly the queen of Cannes!

SHE’S BACK!
no middle parted hair, finally ! makeup is perfect, outfit is great, except for the leaf detail that draws attention to the arms, but it’s a lovely color and props for not shying away from a body hugging gown! think of how she’d smash it out of the ballpark if she decided to get back in shape! because, she worth it! she brought her star allure and aura as she usually does.
To me she looks completely “in-shape”. If your reference for a 50 yearly old woman is her 30 year old body, you will always find inadequacies. We don’t know what stage she is in at life and maybe this is her best. A pretty back-handed and spineless thing to say.
I was utterly shocked to read Mrinal Pande’s nasty comments about Aishwarya’s weight. If educated women are so comfortable fat-shaming other women, what hope is there? Yes, she is chubbier than she was in her heyday – most of us are – and she is glowing and looks happy (how many of us are?)
The sight of those arms is a a bit of a relief. The colour is good on her. She looks healthy, radiant and comfortable after a long time. However, and this is completely on the designer and stylist, the gown looks like an average West Delhi sangeet/engagement gown replete with that tacky necklace and caked on blush. The dhinchak glittery material, over designed bust, those leaves at the arms, that ribbed tubing all over the body. Everything looks inexpensive and uninspired. Like some Janakpuri local designer ripping off a couture.
the material allowed her to wear a ‘close to the body’ fit after years of voluminous, unflattering ‘gowns’. because softer fabric with a bodycon fit tends to be unforgiving on the less than model figured! the ‘leaves’ took it to a costume level dress, tho…a halter neckline with a sheer panel back detail (if she was feeling self-conscious) would have added more sleek lines to the already dramatic lower half. still, i’ll take it over the rut she has been in over the past couple years!
I hate this outfit. It is poorly constructed and looks unflattering. Is there no other way to dress up? She seems to be extremely conscious and her unable to experiment. There are plenty of non-skinny people out there who dress really well! Even on the red carpet!

How many years has the universe waited for her to ditch the dark colored voluminous tents she has been drowning herself in for years. She finally ditched the weird chipkoo middle parted hair hanging on both of her cheeks ! And the red lip has disappeared as well.
The best part is she has finally decided to own her curves after what must have been a years long struggle with her demons regarding her own body image. I always maintained Aishwarya was just as gorgeous in her full figured curvy version as long as she owned it!
She has summoned up the courage to finally just be herself!
At 2026 Cannes she has done everything she needed to do in terms of bringing her aura back with a bang!
Yes, she is a mature woman of 50+ with meat on her big bones and she is still breathtakingly Gorgeous!
Aish in jewel tone at red carpet is always a win ! As someone said the material and fit of gown is west Delhi ‘reception’ look – looks a little cheap , but the face card and confidence is enough .

Oh man, it’s like she discovers another gear at Cannes. More than anything else, it’s the confidence that’s blowing me away. The gown embraces her curves with both hands — gotta love that.
Now if only some of that would carry over home!
Are people really liking this look? Amit Aggarwal – is this the best you could create for Aishwarya at Cannes? There are so many better outfits on your website and this in contrast is an over-decorated over-patterned mess. The videos showed her extremely uncomfortable while walking with the clutter of embroidered fabric around her legs, and that never makes for a good look.
Aishwarya is so iconic and beautiful, why can’t designers just let her shine in simplicity. Truly baffling.

Amazing again, lovely color and hair and make up on her which is also her usual style, she couldn’t walk easy in this gown with the structuring, the corners look dramatic, but ok after all the wannabeness, this is just great.
She couldn’t walk in the gown! check out the video… it’s sad and pitiful actually. IMHO – that’s a big fail as a designer.
Yeah gown is tacky has a very maleficient vibe, but she looks amazing in the color and that’s all to her credit, no designer effort or skill here i see.
The cobalt blue colour really suits her. She is looking fabulous!

I’ll give her points for hair and make up and some extra points for displaying her arms and her neck. She is still trying to hide behind the dupatta thing, but it’s OK baby steps.
Rest is a disaster.
She looks gorgeous..but it’s the same old same old with better structure.. sigh..
Why doesn’t she wear a nice beautiful saree…she is always drowning in gowns and anarkalis and baggy pants.
