In Abu Sandeep

It’s been a string of desi looks for mum-to-be Aishwarya and at the launch of the religious album ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, we saw another one in a cream Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla suit.

Hope we get to see a few western looks, preferably in flowy maxis.

  1. as for her wearing only desi so far, the only events you have photos from are desi events … a puja, hanuman chalisa event etc. desi clothes would be more appropriate at these events, yea?

  2. Oh dear… Her bags make it seem like she just needs to relax. I guess like any other professional she’ll work/make appearances but if she can afford it, then she should chill !
Fab suit and loving her kolapuris 🙂

  3. I like the dress very simple yet appealing. The way she is wearing it…. not so much… but can understand her reasons.

She has got a lot of puffiness and needed good make up to cover it and to add some colour to her whitewashed face.

  5. Wow she looks so graceful and the suit is so deceptively simple. The only thing that’s killing me right now is the make up. I know that by month 7 or so, it’s less of a pregnancy glow and more of a pregnancy exhaustion, but I wish she wasn’t drowning in so much bronzer.

    • I don’t think she is hiding it or thinking it’s some sort of crime… I’m all for her covering up because the media will find anything to go crazy about especially when it’s about a Bacchan baby. Before we’ll know it, the baby bump and gender predictions will be all over the place.

  6. I dont think she will wear flowy maxis as she is covering herself up even in salwars with her dupatta.

She looks nice in the first pic, but not liking the orange hair color.

  7. It annoys me to no end that she wants to cover up her baby bump with tent like outfits.Being pregnant is a wonderful and natural event and I dont understand the need to coverup as if you are ashamed of it! Otherwise, she looks pretty like always.

    • I feel so sad that in the last 10-20 years people have moved from hiding the pregnancy bump to almost being obliged to show it.
I think its people’s personal preference and most women in india hide it or atleast try not to showcase it. I think it should be left as a personal preference. U want to show, go ahead but don’t expect other to do the same.

    • But then again, I have cousins in New Zealand who are appalled by how women there showcase their pregnancy by wearing cropped tops and sport bras while shopping..

I’m sure you would not like to see that!

The only reason she is covering up is cuz she is surrounded by guards and paparazzi, and I also think its more of a protective instinct towards the child, rather than hiding it from the world..
When she is with family and friends she might be a lot bolder and may feel safer..

    • Who said covering yourself up is being ashamed of your pregnancy. This is how most of my friends dressed up when pregnant.. Oh wait, guess they were ashamed of it too..

  8. I don’t know why people are surprised that Aishwarya is in mostly desi wear. It’s not like she’s walking Cannes red carpet and she’s always been pretty conservative

  9. Oh please! People need to give her a break! She wears what she feels comfortable in and wears it the way she wants to make public appearances in. If flowy maxis are not her style, then so be it. Just because they make a baby bump look cute doesn’t mean she has to don those too. Plus she is glowing right now. Go Ash!

  10. Oh God, its amazing how everyone has an opinion on how much of her bump she should show. You need to stop and listen to yourself, folks. As the lady before me said – its none of your beeswax!

  11. uhh Payal keep hoping! Ash has always enjoyed her desk clothes more, other than the occasional gowns here n there . And I think she’s using it well to hide her belly!

  12. She has surely put on the pounds…I did too when I was preg, and I am only 5.5 in height. For the record I am now 126 pounds and look fabulous 🙂 However, when one gain so much weight it is best to dress appropriately. She seems to have taken quite a fancy to her Indian clothing. Also, at this stage it is not easy to fit into many fancy wear…. I believe she is happily pregnant and leading a calm and quiet life, until her baby arrives. The media has a way of manipulating the story… stick to good critical taste and judgment.

  13. Love Ash’s outfit. She is oozing radiance. Makes me feel happy! My only grumble…don’t like her make-up. I like without so much make-up.

  14. she’s so beautiful! pregnancy becomes her! i personally am not surprised at ALL thats she’s being conservative about her pregnancy. she’s not exactly a risque-flash everything dresser to begin with. I think it exemplifies her as the lady she truly is 🙂

  15. Wow.. amazed at comments equating somebody being covered up, to being a lady, and not leaving it at personal taste or event-appropriateness!
Next, it’ll be: “ooh woman in short dress? She asked for it!”
