In Falguni and Shane Peacock

Aishwarya walked the red carpet on day two of Cannes Film Festival in a custom gown by Falguni and Shane Peacock. I like a delicate take on flora but to me that train with the giant gold flowers felt way too garish.

Having said that, just so happy to see Aishwarya with her hair pulled back. She is just so darn gorgeous!

  1. Gosh that makeup and hair ! Baaki sab maaf! I like the outfit and the crazy train as well..I wish that puffed up but was black as well. It’s too much contrast.

    • Outfit was not well tailored. Looked like they’d found a good deal on fabric and decided to use all of it to make the dress. Bunchy sleeves, bad wrinkles across the front. Aish looked great but the outfit didn’t – she deserves so much better. I used to love her in Armani Prive – glam but restrained should be her mantra

  2. The best part : Aishwarya looks oh-so-lovely. The hairdo and makeup look great on her!
The good part: The silhouette of the gown.
The average part – It looks similar to Schiaparelli gowns but with poor material and finishing touches.

I hope she walks the red carpet on 2 days because I am excited to see Aishwarya experiment with her outfit, hair, and makeup.

  3. I think sometimes she forgets what a beautiful face she has ..I hate what those oversized tents do to her ( the ones she wears in india) .. she is looking gorgeous beyond that face everything else is blurry

    • Those sleeves could have taken away the whole look, but it’s Aishwarya! The hair tied back looks so good and love the new lip colour instead of her favoured red! She looks great overall, keep rocking : )

  4. Wow, so good to see that face in great make-up and hair! Happy that we got a different hair style. The gown is all kinds of hideous..oh dear. More than the train I find the gold mess in the bodice ugly and cheap. The designer duo have a lot of explaining to do. Meanwhile, let me just focus on her face <3

    • I doubt if it is anything to do with the designers . Last year it was the huge glorified shrug-hood and a bow and now this . I feel Aish always feels the need to cover her curves , esp her midriff and arms and shoulders . Every single time – whether it’s an an event back home , airport and an Intenational event like Cannes .

  5. The face & hair look top notch! What a refreshing change with the lip colour and hair.

The outfit looks like a school project gone wrong with those reindeer horns & foiled flowers.

  6. My biggest gripe is how cheap the material looks. It looks like a school project hastily put together in the front. If Aishwarya’s team had actually worked with Schiaparelli or Tamara Ralph, there were better options there which would give her same silhouette and work and it’d look better quality. Face, make up, hair looks lovely but the fashion is a let down.

  7. She is stunning. Look at that face. Look at the makeup and the lip color! Why would anyone with this face card hide it? I can only dream I look this good as I get older! I didn’t even see the gown but I think all that white was to hide her arm sling/bandage?

  8. I really hope she shows her full face like this more often because it’s a crime to hide those eyes and that jawline behind a curtain of hair. Don’t like the gown one bit but saath khoon maaf. She looks stunning.

  9. She’s aging really nicely. I’m not a fan of the train, but the gown is not bad. I love her makeup; she looks fabulous in nude lipstick.

  10. The outfit is ugly, messy and crowded.

    That face is gorgous!
Applaude her for getting out of her comfortzone with the hair.

  11. Love LOVE the natural hair, soft make up and that smile… She is so charming that i can overlook the fact that the gown was a wrong pick.
The sleeves may be to camouflage that hand cast.
But what grace , what a lovely face !
    Ash is back and how.

  12. Neck up she looks flawless. Out of all the choices available to Ms. Rai she picks this hot mess to wear?!!! , i guess there truly is no accounting for taste. I am glad she ditched the garish RED lipstick.

  13. The gold in front and the puffy sleeves is just probably typical Aish trying to cover her curves which she does on a regular basis .
But wow ! That face , served ! So so beautiful and elegant and graceful and mesmerising .

Aish’s Cannes appearance is like RCB at IPL . RCB fans always expect high and wait and wait .And even if we don’t win the trophy , we’re still happy with play-offs .

  14. Falguni and Shane Peacock should be sacked for making this mess.
She did her dirty and did the same to Mrunal last year.
Such a big platform was given to them n this the best the designers could do?
    Please quit.
Ash’s face card is the only saving grace here..

  15. The gown seems to be made of such poor fabric and the flowers especially seem to have been hastily plucked out from Aaradhya’s school project.. The only salvaging part is the face card that doesn’t seem to decline at all and which has been hidden from all of us for quite a long time!! <3

  16. I could take all tents that she wears in India as long as she was knocking it in Cannes , but this is simply lazy . Did she not even look at the dress or did a trial before ? reducing some one so statuesque into this joke is a crime

  17. Absolutely hideous gown! But how gorgeous she looks… her makeup and OMG… a different hairstyle makes such a big difference. Willing to overlook the arty-crafty monstrosity of a gown any day!
