In Amrita Thakur

An ambassador for Kalyan Jewellers, Aishwarya inaugurated their Pune store a few days ago wearing a red angarkha Amrita Thakur suit.

Between the dupatta and the sleeves, the gold leaf motif on the red suit felt a bit loud. We weren’t fans of it. You like?

  1. Since it’s a jewelry store opening, I’d give it a pass….you’re given permission to be “loud” 😀 But, where is the jewelry? Why is the clothing taking center stage? Confused!

  2. i don’t get this. she’s a jewellery brand ambassador yet there isn’t an inch where she can wear a piece of jewellery without it disappearing into either her hair or her outfit

  3. She is squarely targeting Madhuri Dixit’s fan base: ie.the middle aged, middle class demographic. Good for her, someone has to do it and its a big market. Though Madhuri has way too much pizzazz for a real comparison.

      • LOL tell me about it, she doesn’t even endorse every second product like other celebrities do.. like biscuits, hair remover creme etc etc

just Longines, Loreal and this jewellery brand… what is so “middle class” about them? ridiculous..

        • I’m guessing the world wide ‘fan base’ is big enough for them to not be stupidly competitive as your post suggests…
And if she were truly panicking about her ‘fan base’ she’d be back to size zero a month after giving birth and present at the opening of every envelope in town, signing each film coming her way…
Coming back to fashion tho…the woman needs to hire a better stylist pronto!!!!

    • Madhuri has way too much pizzazz? Ha ha ha! That’s the most ridiculous statement. But wait why this silly comparison they are not even from the same movie era plus the leagues which Aish plays is definitely more expansive and mighty different from Madhuris’.

    • if i had to choose between Madhuri and Aish, it would be Madhuri. and i’m talking only fashion wise. Madhuri gracefully wears her shape and her age. waaay cooler.

      • ash and madhuri are both similar. both over giggly.( both annoying to me anyway). both just every bloody mother in laws dream. both just so super conformist and non wild. their self consciousness is evident in their fashion choices. and ordinary everyday people love them (esp. madhuri) because their personas are so ”safe” and gharelu and non starry even though they are stars.

I HATE THEM GIGGLERS OF THE NINETIES. HATE IT.

          • @ GRUMPY CAT – normally i would never respond to somebody who writes in all CAPS and describes themselves as “grumpy”, but this time i am making an exception to request you to read what i wrote in its entirety. thank you for your time.

      • PnP, why are such remarks being approved? Not just here, but many posts are just snarky and have nothing to do with fashion.
Unless these days you want the site to slide down to gossip category.
Also this whole line of comparing Ash and Madhuri is totally unnecessary.

      • LOL. So funny. You really are grumpy, Grumpy Cat.Remember Madhuri’s Ek Do Teen ? Definitely not a mother-in-law’s dream. Also, she was path-breaking because she gave the Bollywood heroine so much more importance. If a star choose to have a traditional, safe image you can’t really hold that against them, can you? Not everyone can be wild and brooding like Kangna Ranaut.

  4. For a jewellery opening its strage that there is not an ounce of gold on her, the dress could totally take some heave bling accessories. The sponsors must have been quite let down

  5. Hideous. It’s like the Cannes and Ascot events never happened, she is back to awful anarkalis, terrible hair and awful make-up.

  6. My only wish is that she tries different hairstyle and braids etc if nothing else. That change alone could have uplifted this look.

  7. the same boring poses, the same boring LOUD make up… and yeah where’s the jewelry….?? or the kalyan jewelry is too bad that she doesn’t wanna wear it ?? #weird

  8. we should leave Aish alone. she looks mighty pleased in her fugly clothes and cake makeup and obviously doesnt care what fashion blogs say about her. i say good for her. life is too short to worry about looks and all when you just dont feel like it.

  9. she is supposed to be the most beautiful women.y cant she hire a decent stylist..promoting a jewelry she could have worn a simpler outfit n let the jewels shine..instead i dnt see her wearing a single piece on her!!

  10. Everybody has had a makeover/ stylist in bollywood …….even relatively newer and less popular actresses …….so what ‘s stopping her? either she’s not interested or too conscious of her body………..or thinks she’s too high and mighty and far too superior for clothes or styling to matter…….
