In Gaurav Gupta
Aishwarya’s second red carpet outing was in a strapless gown by Gaurav Gupta gown featuring a contrast colored cape train. I didn’t care for the sari outing one bit but got no complaints here. She looked drop dead gorgeous!

Both her looks this year landed well.. she looks absolutely breathtaking in this GG outfit and tbh she looked good in MM look as well .. now can we see her in a Rahul mishra look next year?
Thank God she ditched those peacocks after last year’s fiasco.
She looks gorgeous- the color, the hair, and the lipper.
It’s basic glam, not what you expect of Aishwarya on the Cannes red carpet. That said, I loved that she changed things up and Cannes aside, she looks stunning.
No complaints! Wish she would ditch the cape/arm cover but don’t see that happening soon. Wish the cape was more of a piece with the gown though, maybe through the embellishments. This seems a last minute add-on.
This is such a huge step up when compared to the saree outing. She looks gorgeous. She could have ditched the cape, given her arms and shoulders some rest and showcased the GG gown better. But that’s a minor gripe.
And, the red lip is back 🙂
In some pics the cape slipped and the gown in itself looked fab..the benarasi cape may be an addition of Indian element.
i read that the cape had an inscription from
the Geeta- pretty cool !
I’m sorry, but thats a blanket not a cape.
I did watch a video where the cape dropped and her arms were perfectly fine. I am not sure why she felt (and feels) the need to cover up.
Same…she is so beautiful….I can’t imagine what pressure the women in public eye feel that someone as gorgeous as aishwarya feel imperfect or less in some way. It’s really an indictment of the society we live in – both the male and female gaze – that she feels so awkward to show a perfectly good arm or rest of herself. Same with bhumi or parineeti or others who seem to have gone off the rails. Great job this year for Ash – the sindoor theme landed home in more ways than one and she bought back old world hollywood glam here. More power to her and hope she finds it in her to be herself more without constantly wearing the gaze and being under confident. Hope she is reading some of these comments – she has held herself in grace through utter muck thrown at her over the years. She has nothing to not feel proud of.
Wow! Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, flawless. Wait, didnt they say no train outfits? I guess it doesn’t apply to Cannes Royalty like Ash!
I have one simple question: Why does Aishwarya always try to hide that beautiful face? This outing (dress, hair, make up) is much better than all her previous outings this year.
This is more like it. It’s standard fare (when it comes to Cannes) but better this than yesterday’s outing or any peacock outfits. As someone said earlier, I wish the cape was part of the dress rather than a wrap.
This gown reminded me
Of the copper color
Gown she once wore to the Oscar’s. I wouldn’t have minded a repeat of that dress too. It’s very similar to this one.
That chadar (cape?) ruins the whole look, looks just weird
Yes like a robe on a revealing nightdress. M sure the gown itself would have looked lovely
the hairs have parted to the side at last!! she looks great! that cape could have been a stand out piece with the right material and embellishments, taken the whole outfit up several notches. as it is, looks like the same material from that saree look yesterday.
This is a huge improvement from yesterday’s look . The hair , the makeup , dress all spot on . It’s lovely and uncluttered. Minor gripe …. why is she carrying that Rajai …… cape could’ve been a better colour , texture .
Still hiding under yards of irrelevant fabric. That cape has nothing to do with the gown. Wish we could see if there is anything special about the gown. That fiery orange-red lipstick is an eyesore. But hey the centre parted hair has gone! And that is a relief.
We asked and she delivered ! Non fussy and elegant. And love the hair
Thank you Aish! And whoever her new stylists are <3
With Aishwarya, we have reached a place where even an iota of effort feels like something worth applauding, given her general penchant to wear tents of various kinds. If this was any other celebrity, there is a very high chance that people woukd have called it meh, or that it’s a low effort outfit, but then it’s Aishwarya, India looks at her differently and have an unbridled obsession with het “face card”.
Let’s start on a high note: it is a beautiful face. Hair slicked back on one side—smart move, it takes some of the weight off the overall look.
Red lipstick? Back for an encore, of course.
Now, the dress… is that a shimmery velvet bodycon or an ambitious attempt at upholstery? I really tried to find something redeeming here. Really. But then there’s the “cape”—if we can call it that. More like a glitzy throw blanket someone mistook for fashion. In grey. Shimmery, naturally.
The jewelry reminds me of my 7 years old daughters collection.
I didn’t (couldn’t!) touch the chaotic, padded mess from yesterday. That white look was beyond commentary. This one? Slightly less tragic—enough for me to actually be able to gather my thoughts.
Ending it positively; she gets a lot of attention. And in this game, that counts too.
Why wear a strapless gown and then throw a gamcha on it? Just wear something with sleeves if you are so uncomfortable showing your arms. This odd incoherent fabric brings even more attention to what you are trying to hide!
Lovely!! Finally get to see her hair side parted , at least one earring is visible …
The cape looks detailed in high Resolution images…Aish seems to have lost wt. and looks so happy, it adds to her face card.
For a second the monstrous bathrobe or cape or whatever they’re calling this slipped off her shoulder, and I was praying that she would moult out of it, and we could see her finally in the gown. Also, the videos were very funny because she was trying to get into a picture with Helen, but whatever she did with her robe, she could not end up standing right next to her because it kept coming in the way..
Hair and makeup are fine. I’m finally glad she got out of that Pin straight Centre part Morticia Adams hair. The red lip is still a bit bizarre. But I would definitely say this was a step up from yesterday.
Looks like Amazon wrapping paper they use to pack boxes with fragile product
She’s looking beautiful. I love that dress on her
She looks beautiful, I even like the cape, it adds a little drama to her look. Just love the hair.
It is a standard gown with an unnecessary cape. Oh the giant cape has a Sanskrit shloka and is spiritual, we are showcasing India!
Seriously no this is a nothingburger put on a lady who is an iconic star coasting on the most beautiful title for ages.
massive respect for her.. Doing what she does each year .. with a look thats iconic and creates flutter.. whether negative or positive, Her unflappable demeanour comes across in her not acknowledging all the negativity around her marriage , her weight , daughter..everything.. Just the fact shes been here since 2002 and still going strong needs to be respected..! she s an icon – no doubt!
Gaurav Gupta gown looks classy! That face card always wins. Aishwarya Rai looks breathtakingly beautiful! I love what she’s wearing. Truly a timeless classic beauty she is. I agree about there was no need for the cape. Her arms looked just fine. Just the change of hairstyle made a world of difference. Indeed she’s the queen of Cannes!
ARB is breathtakingly beautiful, love her on the Cannes red carpet . i look fwd to it every year.
It would be so awesome for ARB to go into a dont give a fck mode, and be more body positive. The bedsheet capes and yards of fabric make her seem a lil insecure about herself.
She is the Aishwarya Rai fgs, I miss her confidence and chutzpah
Agree, she has become caricaturish now and out of touch with the times. Reminds me of Pierre Cadault from Emily In Paris.
Someone snatch away the blankets and bedsheet capes from her, she needs to stop hiding under them and be unapologetically herself.
Imagine being the ‘Aiswarya Rai” and having to go through the pressure of looking like a twenty something all the time,is there any mercy for the rest of us??!0
Definitely better than that hideous saree she wore from MM . She looks young , vibrant and the hair has been a major factor for making this gown look beautiful . Only wish the cape had some shape & tailoring to it . It’s just been plopped on her & she’s having hard time navigating it
