Aishwarya on Vogue India:(Un)Covered

Comment image 73

It almost feels like yesterday that we saw Ash with Abhishek on Vogue. (Ok, maybe not, it was seven months ago…)

For that reason part of me is getting riled up to see her again but the other part of me is going gaga over seeing the Roksanda Ilincic jacket with the exaggerated feather shoulders. Damn! Luuurve.

What do you think of Ash channeling the angelic mood but with dark feathers?

(P.S. This is a bad pic (scanned) we admit but the only one out there. Update: Added another pic courtesy Santu From Devil Wore. Don’t miss Anna Delle Russo on his site in the same outfit.)

P.P.S. Swapped Pics.

This might just be my favourite cover of Aishwarya! The make up and hair just make the look perfect!

  2. I have some MAJOR love for this cover. It’s fantastic when Ash’s angelic looks are vamped up. It’s a fabulous, fabulous shot, and I cannot wait to see the rest of the shoot.

  3. i Lovvvvve the cover alot .. it’s v.deffernat from wt usually cover is .. but i think if she has a cut eyes makeup or a little havey makeup eyes will be superb

  4. something is missing….the look on that model’s face is so intense and aishwarya has failed to bring up that intensity…the makeup artist has failed to do his job…soft black smoked liner or maybe berry colored eye shades could have helped with that look!! very mediocre!!

    • I agree.. the outfit is good.. the hair is fine.. but this is not the best this picture could have been considering it really had awesome potential!

  5. I love everything about this look–the slightly unkempt hair, the ethereal skin, the barely there makeup, and that JACKET!! I truly hate to channel Racheal Zoe but….I DIE!

  6. I really wish Aish would dress more edgier than those ugly MM designs she wears. This cover is absolutely fabulous. Though I think the stylist copied the way Anna Delle Russo wore it (hair, makeup) as she looks fabulous wearing this jacket too. Her necklace and earrings are beautiful too. I need to find a close up. But Aish wears this jacket really well on the cover. Can’t wait to see the shoot!

    • Why would what a six-year-old say elicit an “enough said”? My six-year-old cousin thinks Barbie is the ultimate fashion icon, which doesn’t mean those are the last words on that subject. 🙂

    • Second that. Dark, moody, and fragile. And i would disagree with the comments on photoshopping. May be the waist has been a little tweaked, but at least her face remains her own. And she totally rocks the cover.
      P.S: I AM NOT A FAN.

  7. Loving the photo! Payal – I think you have failed to understand that Aishwarya has a huge fan base around the world. Surely Vogue will have Aishwarya on cover of their magazine every year – Aish is an internationl star and she sells magazines!. I for one will be buying Vogue February issue.

  8. Looks like many people r liking this cover page but not me.
Dont like the makeup & that posing for that dress.
She also looks sick, and dont like placement of her hands on her waist.
Would have liked funny or cheery expressions with that dress and that hair should have been tied back inorder to showcase the feathers.

    • I agree- she looks sick in this picture. The shadow under the eyes isnt working in my opinion. I do like smokey eyes, but I feel like the shade they have used isnt bringing forth the right effect

  9. agreed, the eyes could have been smokier (was that a right term? anyway…) or the make-up could have been darker but i think the stylist wanna go the “you think im innocent and ethereal but there’s still a dark side to me” look. if they’re going for that, the make-up and expression works for me.

the jacket, 1st time i’ve seen it and its gorgeous! really goes well with the fallen angel effect.

Ash has bee wearing heavy makeup (and heavier eye makeup) in all the events recently and im glad they went easy with her makeup here. really brings out her natural beauty. and don’t say its ALL because of airbrush. heck, all celebrity photoshoots are airbrushed nowadays so deal with it.

and i think that’s her real figure. she actually has a good shape (voluptuous even) but we don’t get to see it coz she’s always wrapped up in those heavy-duty anarkalis. lol.

generally, i love the cover! 🙂 the headings around it could have been better though.

  10. the entire look is fabulous!!!!love d whole concept!!!
but her eyes look terribly ill……..when they could have looked totally glam n sexy with more make up!! u know….kind of a dramatic effect!

  12. huge fan base around the world? it s only indians who follow aishwarya perhaps some more asians as well. in other countries who follow her mostly indians so we cant say she is international she is not known most of the countries in middle east, turkey, russia, europe, even usa…and many many others …

    • That’s where you’re wrong.
The endorsements have made her rather famous. Not to mention her appearance on Oprah (twice) Tyra Banks show and a few others like Letterman, I think. She’s widely popular is the US amongst some of my non Indian friends there as well as Canada and some parts of Europe as well. She’s also a regular at Cannes and has an ad with Kate Winslet which has been aired the world over. People know who she is, and they like her. I’m not saying everyone does, or even half as much as say Eva Longoria or whatever, but her beauty is appreciated world over.

      On another note.
      She looks great! 😀

  13. clearly some comments here r frm ppl who d like to think of themselves as fashionistas who live by fashion…and call some other comments silliy…would love to c these women in real life n what they dress in???
regarding ash- get over it; the photo is airbrushed neck up and down

  14. holy wow she looks beautiful. she really makes the unique jacket sparkle and wears IT, as oppose to some clothes that consume/overshadow the girl. great cover!

  15. i’ve seen aishwariya wear this same “arrowhead” shaped ring on another cover. or was it a print ad. anyways, it seems she really likes this ring.

i LOVE the jacket. great stuff.

as for the photoshopping – i wish somebody would photoshop MY photos too! what luxury!

  16. why does aishwarya elicit so many photoshopping comments?! its quite uncanny. everyone is photoshopped, but the comments seems almost spiteful in her case.

and before someone calls me a rabid fan, I dont like her acting at all. but no need to pull her down unnecessarily and be mean about it…she is obviously a great looking woman and this is a great shot…very current

back to this shoot, her face is obviously hers….and by the way so is the figure…i just saw a video of this shoot on another website and her pics are quite true to life. her face and figure looked like this….people seem to forget that good photography has a lot to do with great light and angles too…its not all photoshop.

Anway I dont think she looks that skinny (to elicit this many comments on photoshop) here anyway…nothing a great fitting dress can’t hide. I think that is her waist…the one flaw of her figure is her arms but they are covered here!
