In Raw Mango

Wearing a Raw Mango sharara, Aditi attended a promotional event for a watch brand that she represents. She looked lovely but I do feel the outfit was overkill for the event.

  1. For a watch brand? Outfit is totally misread for the event.
She Looks beautiful, love the soft blue colour and the grace of this suit.

  2. An elegant suit in subtle color and not much embroidery, no loud makeup, simple hair and just jhumkas.. I am surprised at your ‘overkill’ comment.

  3. I did a quick google search and found out that the Nebula range of watches is a wedding range, so actually Aditi is dressed super appropriately for the event. Also, I see b’wood actresses wearing hugely embellished dresses or gowns to similar events with no such responses. Karisma Kapoor wore a cocktail dress for a similar event with no eyebrows raised.

    • BW actresses wear anarkalis to go have lunch, leather pantsuits for a long haul plane rides, bra blouses for Ganpati and Durga Pooja, wear hideously heavy lehangas at other peoples’ weddings!
they are an interesting bunch 🙂

  4. The kurta is nice.. did not like the pants.. maybe if they were plain blue, I would have liked them better.

I think that a churidaar would have complimented the kurta perfectly.

  5. She looks so lovely and elegant. I don’t think it’s an overkill but yes not very event-appropriate unless it was a celebrate attempt to connect with a certain target audience. She seems to be struggling with the slipping dupatta in some pics which conceals the watch – doesn’t serve the purpose of the event. I always prefer less fabric for watch-related events so that the piece can stand out and do most of the talking.

  6. I think she looks great and event appropriate given its a wedding line. Sara on the other hand looks OTT for a song launch in the post above this.

  7. I am so so surprised that so many people are saying this is not event appropriate, considering how simple and nice the suit is. Considering this is in India and for an Indian inspired watch collection(I would be ok with traditional wear even if it is not an indian brand as long as it is not jimmickey), how is it that only western wear is considered normal/event appropriate.

      • But the Nebula range is weddings and festivals. So keeping the theme for the product in mind I would say she is appropriately attired. Plus the color is what you would wear during the day. If it’s not the usual A lister of your choice, the nitpicking and critique gets into the petty territory.

  8. I think it’s overkill too. When representing jewelry or watches, the spotlight as it were, should be on the item one is contracted to endorse. If your own get-up swamps the item so that it’s barely seen, it defeats the purpose. It’s a disservice to the brand.

Simple fabrics in simple cuts that put the emphasis on the item being promoted – like how Aishwarya was styled for all her Longines outings.
