In Amit Aggarwal

Aditi attended the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) on Wednesday evening wearing a straight off the LFW runway Amit Aggarwal gown. At first glance, I was surprised at why the gown looked so bad and checking the runway pic explained things quite a bit.

Adjusting the hemline to match her height threw off the proportions between the gold and the shiny border quite a bit and camera flashes against the border only compounded the issues.

Having said that though, this definitely was one of those gowns that was better reserved for editorials than to wear in real life. It didn’t do Ms. Hydari any favor.

  1. LMAO! It needs a lanky -model body to pull of that kind of gown. Gown looks good on the model and looks like clown clothes on her. The akimbo only works for upper part not for lower part, Ms Hydari. lol.

    • Bwahahaha! Till kingdom come… not sure if that was an intended dual pun because there are one or two lurking over here always stating she belongs to some “royal” family. As if! Thankies for the guffaws, this is the second time I am spilling my coffee over my laptop . 😛

      • She has royal lineage from both her parents. Her grandfather was instrumental in pre independence government in princely state of Hyderabad and founded many key institutions. As a token of how significant both sides are, she took both last names. That’s double the royalty!!

And then came article 14 and we all became just as important as former royals.

        • Well since the sarcasm flew over you. Lets get to the point. Big friggin’ deal at this time & age to brag if the person has a royal background or rags background. Being from royal clan automatically has never and will never equal to a person’s class/elegance/poise/personality. If that is the case , the so called “royals” – Kshatriyas are technically below the Brahmins(Manusmriti and even in current times). So if it is a Brahmin celebrity, people should go around bragging about even how even the royals are below them. LOL!

          • Dear Avani, major love to you for this. If you read again, I had mentioned article 14 of the Constitution that makes everyone just as important. You were sarcy, I was mean in saying double the royalty– then came article 14 🙂

Good to know I’m not the only one who thinks it’s not a thing anymore 😉

          • Articles come and go in India but the fact remains that even now there are some silly people who go around talking about such *beep* stuff. I was just referring to it. I might have read between the lines, excuse me for that. 🙂

      • Why do we keep talking about her purported royalty???? I’m beginning to feel sorry for her. These rumors must be so embarrassing for her. In this day and age, having feudal heritage is something that people are ashamed of. Even if these are not rumors, it is improper to keep reminding her that her ancestors were feudal lords and tyrants.

        • So true. With royalty came the feudal lords. We need to feel sorry for those who comment on that aspect because they seem to be still living in the dark ages not her. Lol.

  3. i like the idea of the dress-its very editorial and cool. maybe it would have fared better if she had customized the dress such that the shiny panel was removed and the orange part extended till the floor.

  4. What?! I really like the look! Aditi has kept the hair simple, accessories nil/minimum, and let the gown do the talking, which really, is a statement piece! It is fabulous!

  5. Its quite an eyesore of a dress, even on the runway. And on Aditi it looks all the more atrocious. Kudos to her for trying out something new – but this is spectacularly bad.

  6. Wow that orange is a strange “fabric”, looks like glitter vinyl upholstery fabric used on retro diner restaurant booths:)

  7. Good catch P&P! Aditi Rao gets major brownie oints for daring to go another route. Like a true fashionista does. Love her confidence as well, so the gown is forgiven. 🙂

  9. This dress makes her face look tiny compared to her body. She does not have the height to carry off a dress like that. Very few do. She is 5 feet tall. Frankly, the dress itself is overrated, imho. It is really an eyesore. When you wear an eyesore, you are not being risky. You just don’t know fashion!
