The Newly Weds

Vivek Oberoi tied the knot with Priyanka Alva on Friday night and made an appearance for the press right after their wedding nuptials. Congratulations to the couple!

P.S. Both wore Tarun Tahiliani according to reports and the sarpech on Vivek’s turban was a gift from mother-in-law Nandini.

Update: Added clearer pic.

  1. I think Priyanka is one of the prettiest brides from Bollywood recently! How much do I love her makeup? Its so beautifully elaborate, not gaudy at all! The outfit is pretty too! Congrats to the happy couple.

    • I completely agree and to me she is one of the best brides in Bollywood bcoz she isn’t wearing OTT types jewelry and make-up stuff…….I love the way she kept it simple and yet looking beautiful.

I might be the only one but honestly I dont feel good about people making good/bad verdicts for these newly weds…….cum on guys its the most happiest day in there “REAL” life and lets wish them the best.

      • Well wouldn’t say she is the prettiest bride. She looks good here. Her make up is done just right. Her lehenga is also great. However Vivek is a little OTT. Besides why are they wearing matching outfits. Its very kindergarten. However they both look happy and that is the bottom line. Congratulations Vivek and Priyanka.

        • Honestly, i think she is pretty and looks good. That said i dont like her lehenga. It is too much. But well when else can she go too much if not her wedding.
I thought Konkana on her wedding was real sweet ! That was to me the prettiest bride from the movie brigade.

  3. Yuck – HATE what he’s wearing or what ALL he’s wearing! seriously – we know you get married only ONCE, but you don’t have to wear everything wedding-y at the same time!!!

  4. She looks lovely, and it’s a bit strange seeing Vivek so decked up but it’s his wedding so he gets a free pass…They make a cute couple

  5. Wow that is all so overwhelming (and bit OTT IMO) – both of those outfits and accessories and the whole shabang but looking beyond that best wishes to the bride & groom.

  7. This pic reminds me of Vivek’s movie “Kisna” by Subash Ghai….Well here the couple wedding “costume” make them look eerily like Krishna and Radha!!
And that is also a compliment because it means they make a good couple, match made in heaven! Good for Vivek…he deserves it after all that he’s been through…

  8. Lovely couple, so much ahead of them. Wishing them all the very best. I really like Vivek, he is a good kid mixed up in the cesspit that Bollywood dredges up now and then. They look like a happy jodi.

  11. What a lovely wedding, and they seem like very nice, sincere people. What I’d love to see is a picture of Vivek’s mother featured on HHC. Every picture I’ve seen of that lady (and YES, the term “lady’ applies here) she is the acme of taste and elegance. I’ve come to think of Vivek’s mom as sort of the ANTI-Parmeshwar Godrej.
Really a compare/contrast of those two would be priceless!

  12. They look very nice. Congrats! Yes, Vivek is dressed like a maharaja, but he is the king on his wedding day. Priyanka’s lehenga is nice. Make-up is perfect. If they couldn’t go matchy matchy for their wedding, when else could they?

  14. i’ve no problem with vivek. priyanka’s styling is not quite good. if u wear such a lehenga u should probably wear jewellery which compliments it. she wore temple jewellery which looks good with a saree. and the bangles are so off. but that said she’s so beautiful. with a little effort she wud’ve looked her best.

    congratulations to the great couple!!!!!!

  17. OMG,… its a bit too much for my liking

The groom outdoing the bride on the wedding day is not a good thing at all. Even the brides lehenga looks a bit too much.

Im quite worried now being a south indian all set to marry a Punjabi, I dont want to wear these OTT tacky outfits. Much prefer my graceful elegant kanjeevarams.

Can someone enlighten me on the choodas? I thought it was a Punjabi thingie to wear choodas and neither Priyanka nor Vivek are Punjabi. Am I mistaken in thinking it is a Punjabi thingie or is it just the punjabisation of weddings?

  18. Even if Viveks outfit is slightly OTT, i love the sexy punjab da puttar look with the sword and everything! Its nice that Priyanka kept the South Indian style head piece and stuff, but in her place if i was marrying a North Indian (or Half-North Indian) i would still keep a mainly South Indian look for my entire outfit! It just makes the wedding even more unique looking!
