Ms. Balan’s love affair for the Sabyasachi maxis continued with her spotting two more variations at No One Killed Jessica promotions in Hyderabad and Dubai.

I don’t like the ones on her but loving the simpler one on Payal (Sabya’s sister) who wore it to the Marie Claire Fashion Awards.

  1. Oddly, I like Vidya’s maxis- she looks good. Sabya’s sister’s one reminds me too much of a sari I believe Vidya once wore.
I’m growing fonder of Vidya and her Sabya-outfits by the minute. Confident and understated…

  2. What a riot of gypsy colors. I love them. I think she looks quite nice actually. But would it kill her to show some skin? Needs to get some tips from Malaika….

  3. i don’t like maxis ….. at all ….. and with sabyasachi’s design, they remind me of the kaftans and nighties i see alot of the ladies in our society wearing in the morning when they go about the daily household chores.

    • I agree and I too used to think that such voluminous outfits were only for tall women. Now I don’t think so. If a not so shapely woman can insist on wearing tiny outfits, then why can’y a petite woman wear a voluminous one? If you like it, then you should be able to wear it…Like actress Carey Mulligan said about her choice of outfit for the Oscars. Being petite, she was told to wear a frock but she insisted on a gown as that is the only thing that appealed to her…

  4. I like Vidya, I really do. However, this Sabyasachi maxi look has got to go. She looks like she was temporarily insane while choosing those dresses and I say that with the kindest intentions. Vidya can do better. That said, doesn’t mean that everything designed by Sabyasachi looks good.
