A recent award show had Vidya Balan looking pretty in a simple Sabyasachi sari. Love the bindi!

  1. Now she looks like a star…Simply gorgeous just like the sari she is wearing. I think her hair has got a lot to do with it.
Reminds me of Sakshi Tanwar from “bade ache lagte hai”…In a good way…

  2. Gorgeous, she looks radiant. The saree is simple but still typically sabyasachi. I was lucky enough to buy a sabya saree on a recent trip to india and i can tell you, you feel like a million dollers when you’ve got it on. Theres just something about them. Vidyas a lucky lady getting to wear so much of his stuff.

  3. I’m not usually a fan of Vidya and her dressing sense, but she looks very very pretty here- the quintessential indian woman..

  4. On some other blogs there have been a lot of talk about Vidya wearing only Sabya’s outfits or sarees 99% of the times – those people don’t make any sense. She is one of the few women I have seen who can carry off a saree so beautifully, draped so well and looking dignified. I would rather see her in a proper saree than watching others where their twins are always playing peek-a-boo in sarees!!!

  5. She is looking as fresh as a daisy! Something is definitely working here…could be the hair parting. The saree could have been better draped though!

  6. Lovely. Love the casual way the saree is draped. Most women are so self conscious in their sarees. Its a rare woman who carries one like the age old garment it is rather than as a mannequin. I hate pinned up pallus arranged to artfully show off a boob or a waist.

Also, I don’t see why people insist on wanting her to do something different. She’s found her style and her niche, that’s great. I think Raveena, Kajol and a few others should also stick to sarees. They look so uncomfortable in western wear and they can never pull it off.

And finally, I am amused by those who think you look ‘older’ in sarees and younger in Western wear. its all in the mind folks, so open up the mind. Must young women only wear those tacky cheap net sarees?
