More Or Less?

Perhaps, she heard us because, of late, Ms. Balan has been giving us a whole lotta color. But, while we hated the less floral yellow outfit, loved the more floral angrakha outfit. Which outfit do you prefer?

On an aside, don’t Vidya’s bindis wanna make you hum ‘Bindiya Chamkegi…’. 😛

  1. Just noticed that the yellow one’s border is made with the same floral material as the red one only a different color. Guess, her tailor is mixing and matching!

  2. the floral one looks better because of the hair. She looks really good with this hair style. I am glad she has not gone the blond highlight (burn you hair) route. Healthy black hair with a good hair cut looks great ( Priyanka are you listening?)

  3. The yellow is great..until you get to the bottom
    then it just looks tacky
there is a way to do yellow/green/orange that looks great and …spicy (think Ash in that one saree in Devdas…was that it? or something) and then there is the tacky

  4. She looks beautiful, I just wish she were more confident about herself. She’s such a pleasant and interesting actor. I also wish she’d try out new things in terms of fashion for herself this time, rather than for others and for an image… I man she’s clearky clearly playing it safe (that’s an undestaement!)

I wish she’d just have confidence in herself and have fun with fashion… I mean you’re more talented than half the girls in the film industry… c’mon..

  5. She looks gorgeous in the bottom left picture. Like others mentioned, that hairstyle does wonders for her looks. That being said, I think both oufits are ugly. I understand wanting to stick to a silhouette that flatters your body, but seriously?? Wearing an anarkali every time you go out is not the same as wearing jeans every time you go out. The style of an anarkali is way too specific.

    • IMHO, in the bottom left picture she needs a comb!

Though i agree with you a hundred % that Vidya’s anarkali fixation needs a rehaul

  6. In the floral orange dress, she looks better than almost any Indian actress has looked in the recent past – fresh, elegant, interesting and gamine. There’s just something so clean and youthful and unpretentiously charming about her appearance that it takes my breath away.

  7. Ok so I will be the not so kind one here but those are beyond hideous. The one on the left is tacky and then tacky some more. At least with the solid ones it is bearable but the floral one looks like a bedsheet turned into a dress—can’t believe someone ever thought of making a dress out of that. Woman could use as much help as PC needs at the other extreme.

  8. forget the clothes! when i see her gorgeous face, all I can think of is, what Plain-Janes many of the other actresses of today are (inspite of the designer labels, skimpy outfits)!

  9. P&P,

I really don’t get why you keep featuring her on your site? It’s always the same anarkali style, the same bunched up shoulders and clasped hands pose, the same grey contacts and the same smile. Stuck in a rut she refuses to pick herself out of, which is surprising considering the volatile nature of the industry she’s in.

    BORING.

    • Exactly what I think, agreed she cannot carry western clothes and looks good in Indian outfits, but Indian outfits is so much more than the anarkalis she goes on and on with. There are so many different styles of salwar kameez and saris, why doesn’t she for a change even wear sari.
And the ones she has wore above is cheap and tacky, hate it, her face is beautiful though

  10. Both dresses are Ok, she looks better in the first one coz of her face and hair. Folks-let her be… she really cannot carry off anything else. She looks good in Anarkalis.. wonder why she does not wear straight cut shirts with salwars or churidaarsl

  11. i always feel lyk she ws a actress meant for another tym…she’s got this old world charm about her. but i do think she needs to change up the style of her clothes.

  12. I disagree with her not being able to carry anything else off…She’s got a healthy figure. She isn’t overweight. She should be able to wear properly-fitted-anything; but she picks horrible fits and awkward lengths and these choices don’t show in the yawn-inducing anarkalis : Hence the impression she can not wear anything else. She should invest in good fits and a confidence-boosting course. Beautiful woman, she can work wonders.

  13. Vidya Balan is a beautiful woman who dresses for her body type. No matter what she wears, she has the best accessory of all. A gorgeous smile! That being said, I do wish she would give the boat necks a rest.
