In Abu Sandeep

For these ladies it was Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla at Aishwarya’s baby shower. While Anu and Twinkle chose embellished kurtas and churidaars, pairing the outfits with their Chanel bags, Shweta opted for a more colorful ensemble.

As lovely as they all looked, Twinkle stole the show. Love. So impeccable.

  1. Twinkle looks great, in addition to the fabulous color, I love the tightness/fit of the churidar and the length of the kurta. I have no clue why the kurta on anu and Shweta are soooo so long. I am disappointed with Shweta, she looks like a christmas tree. it is good to see that Jaya is smiling.

    • You are so right other than her natural flair for fashion it is the fitting of the churidaar pajama that makes her look. I can so imagine a crumpled, ill fitted mess killing the whole look.

      • and as usual its her choice in accessories that completes the look. anyone else would have destroyed the dress with blingy shoes but not her. she lets the dress do the talking.

  2. Its kinda awkward to hear indians in india having “baby showers”. This effect of globalisation is quiet annoying.
There are various ceremonies for pregnant women in various parts of india.. But they have specific names (e.g. Godh bharai) and involve prayers and not just gifts and food.

Anyways, i love Shwetha’s colourful outfit too.

      • u answered ur question ur self… wt else u expect one sud call a Godh bharai ceremony in English… n wts the problem if a glober term is being used for the same for every one’s convenience… and even in India we do bring gifts n return gifts are being given to the guest’s in GODH BHARAI…
i knw ths coz i ve seen it happening in my family as well as my frns family frm ages…

        • Well, deepavali is still deepavali and holi is still holi. There is no term is english to replace these festival names. You can use various terms & phrases to EXPLAIN them in various languages. You can use Baby shower to EXPLAIN what a godh bharai is. Godh Bharai is not the same as an american baby shower. Both involve gifts and a pregnant woman but thats where the similarity stops. If one looked deeper and knew the meaning of the prayers…
anyways, i could go on..but i will not.

      • I agree with you. However, the effect of globalisation is only one way. You won’t find “Godh Bharai” happening in the West in non-Indian heritage families. Indians are shameless when it comes to copying western culture while ignoring their own culture.

        • I think Indian’s actually did a lot to preserve our culture, where is the real mexican, australian, chinese, japanese, african culture.. they all copy the west much more than Indians do.. sari’s, salwar suits, godh bharai ceremonies would not be going on otherwise!

      • Its certainly not an effect of the west. Godh bharai is a very old Indian tradition and in Mahrashtra side, its done with quite fun and fair. return gifts are not unusual. IN INdia, no matter what the celebration, the attendees do get sweets etc to take back with them..so yaa, its certainly NOT the western Baby shower thats gone to India..

  3. Twinkle is always impeccable .. Does she ever have a bad day ? Remembering what atrocious stuff she she wore in her films, its hard to believe this is the same woman.

I love Shweta’s suit … not the fit, way too voluminous .. but i love the color scheme … P&P, do you have any idea which collection this is from ?

  5. If twinkle is somehow able to get the straigh/bias cut kurti and churidar back in style…and end this assault of OTT anarkalis we are subjected to…then I think she deserves a Bharat Ratna!!!

I still dont get why ppl prefer the anarkali to straight cut kurti, the latter looks so much sleeker, stylish and chicer than the tulle/net/velvet fugfests that most anarkalis are nowadays

  6. Twinkle is such a well dressed woman. I notice how her cuts are always clean and crisp, lengths not too long, not too short-just perfect. Her bags are structured too. She seems to perfectly recognize her body structure and wears stuff that flatter her to the core. That’s one fashions lesson I feel all women should learn- Acknowledge their body shape. So simple yet so important.

  7. I like Twinkle’s and Shweta’s outfits. These photos remind me of “didi tera devar deewanaa” song and all. Would be nice to see mama-to-be as well. But I guess they don’t get out if the function’s at home.

  11. Oh Twinkle Khanna Kumar is a class apart! She is probably alongwith Karishma Kapoor, the best dressed woman in the Indian entertainment industry.

Love the way she has brought it all together & love the colour. Orange <3 with the emerald earrings & her Chanel (?) chocolate brown bag. The other 2 women look very pretty esp Shweta Bachchan Nanda, but Twinkle steals the show.
