In Babita Malkani

At the press meet of her Tamil movie Sakalakala Vallavan, Trisha was seen wearing a Babita Malkani design with silver jewellery by Suhani Pittie. Can’t say I was a fan of the separates so must ask the obvious. You like?

  1. You are right! NOOOOO!!! :(( It looks like the bar dancer costume from Helen Bindu era 🙁
She has a very pleasant charming face, very serene, neck up she looks lovely…
But neck down, awful, I dont understand why nobody wears a simple khadi kurta with a jaipuri salwar or a skirt or a saree…

Designer ke naam par qatl hai aur kuch nahi, qatl of wallet and fabric. Hope she was paid to wear it. That would be a small consolation

  2. this outfit was way better than what she did for the nac showroom one
i was expecting an article on that and how she did not look good at all.
right now samantha, hansika, shriya and sometimes amala paul are good in dressing.
trisha cannot carry traditional looks well, her modern looks are better but sometimes it doesnt work.

  3. The very fact that P&P do not know what to call this atrocity, says a lot. Is it a gown? Is it a salwar kurta? Is it a saree gown? No? Let’s just call it a “design”.

And yes, agree with Rocky, I hope she was paid to wear this.

    • Lol! Agree on the ‘design’ bit. She looks all set to a contemporary dance. Pathetic design. Bad choice for a pretty woman like Trisha. Who calls these people designers? Such a disgrace

  4. Pretty face. Neck up she looks nice. The dress is not well made even if they wanted to do a fusion dhoti separates. This Babita Malkani and the likes are terrible designers. She has a best friend who is a local designer, she sure can at least use his resources, he seems better than these atrocities.

  5. Maybe I’m in the minority here but I quite like the dress on her (not otherwise though). Pink & grey make a timeless combinations and I believe had the dhoti or bottoms, didn’t pool at the feet and were a bit more defined in look, this outfit would have looked great.

Also, since the top has a “dupathha” style from one side, leaving hair open isn’t a great idea. A nice ponytail would have done her good.
