A “Haute” Mary Poppins?

May 26th, 2008 at 2:12 pm . by Payal

At the music launch of “Thoda Pyaar, Thoda Magic”, Rani walked out in the same clothes that her character wears in the movie.

OK, it wasn’t exactly the same!

That’s because designer Manish Malhotra had more than fifty of the same outfit sown for the movie. One look at the outfit and it is pretty obvious to see that Manish used a lot of colors and influences from his own collection ‘La Belle Epoche’, presented at Lakme Fashion Week last year.

What do you think of this look? (I really am digging the bell sleeve jacket..everything else is so so…)

…… have nothing to say about rani’s outfit but she looked good here in this picture, and saif did look older than what he is .

P & P , i need to ask u guys one thing , do u guys know about the jewellery that Milla Jovovich wear @ cannes closing ceremony , who designed it & what’s the cost ????

I think the outfit makes her look frumpy. Maybe it’s the long skirt, which I don’t hate but something doesn’t work, I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Though P&P are right about the jacket. The jacket would be a great piece teamed with something else.

honestly speaking, the outfit seems a bit regressive.. It’s like the fashion development after 2000 never happened.. This outfit would be cool.. in the 90s

the colours are so sabyasachi…..like everyone i hate the skirt. in fact rani has never looked good in skirts. i like the upper layers though…

the skirt looks like the undergarment one wears under a sari. the look is such a mess.

    ….her hair looks nice

The colors are kind of boring but I like the outfit! Saif always looks the same!!

unexciting! but if it’s in character, i guess it goes.

I think its frumpy and unflatttering. Dull colours except for the red vest which is way out of place. Dont care for any particular piece,Manish really needs to reinvent.

  14. she’s too short and dumpy to take so much layering. it would taka MUCH taller and slimmer woman to pull off this outfit which isnt all that great to begin with.

and i do love the jacket, but the vest could have been worn seperately. the skirt is an absolute no-no on someone with her build.

Rani looks so chubby and short. The outfit looks horrible on her and that ain’t saying much

This look is so dated and seen so often on Rani starting with Chalte Chalte when long skirts were trendy. Btw, I thought the jacket is ughhh. And the cute bell sleeves are the white wrap she’s wearing inside the jacket.

Too many layers on Rani makes her look chubby!!

She’s wearing 4 layers on top….what are they thinking???

  21. By: Jesse

She does not however look chubby.

  22. By: Namrata

I don’t like her outfit either. And I think that Saif looks old and tired..
