In Zara

For the latest round of promotions for her upcoming movie, Tamannaah kept it casual in her Zara overalls, Ray-Ban aviators, Comme des Garçons sneakers and a chain-strap bag.

A look I didn’t expect to see on Ms. Bhatia but one she wore well regardless. We like.

  1. While the look is Allright (I mean anything is better than those jeans with two scary holes she wore earlier ) I do feel this woman lacks a style of her own . She’s quite a wannabe fashionista . Not once have I seen her look effortless.

  2. Less is more. TB looks good here. Well done. Her styles are not bad, improved very much. She needs to be daring to try new style, maybe, just maybe she needs a better stylist.
The comments; I don’t know which part is “she’s trying a bit too hard to look trendy” here?

    • Maybe trendy is the wrong word to use, but what I meant to say was that Tamannah doesn’t look natural or effortless in that look. She just comes off as trying too hard to look casual, but she still looks made up. It’s like carefully orchestrating different pieces of clothing to look effortless (which work in theory), but look slightly wannabe-ish in practice.

      • While I see where you are coming from, I would take this look any day over fried over processed colored hair, bizzare hairdos in the name of fashion, aunties trying to be on trend with short shorts, white washed makeup, tweensy posing, the copying straight off a ramp or a style catalog.

    • Well, what I can say? I guess we are so accustomed to liking anyone who tries too hard to look “effortless” (Jacqueline is genuinely effortless, I can tell, so she is an exception), that we tend to pooh-pooh ladies who wear makeup and straighten their hair while sporting a casual look. While I agree that Tamannah is likely to look even better without makeup, I do not support the habit of calling out actresses who supposedly have no personal style just because they are not in the minimal makeup look bandwagon.

      • ‘Calling out’ is too harsh a phrase. I’m not saying she shouldn’t wear makeup – heck no, I love ogling at a well done smoky eye or a bold lip, but a face full of makeup – layers and layers of full coverage foundation, bright blush, contoured features…and a bright lip! It was begging for a more dressy outfit. Her overalls on the other hand were begging for a toned down ‘fresh’ look (fresh = fresh looking makeup :)) Now coming to her hair – there are so many ways to ‘do’ your hair and still look effortless – beachy waves anyone?
She’s pretty irrespective of what she wears though – I don’t think anyone disputes that.
And I’m not sure whom you are referring to, but I did not declare that she has no personal style – I think its ok to express what you liked/did not like about a look. This comments section is meant for that no?

  3. I think she looks good…I dont get the wannabe vibe that I get from Madhuri or Parineeti…I dont think even Sonam is effortless yet…I am okay with someone not looking effortless till the time they dress decently and dont step out in atrocious outfits…I hate those sunglasses though…Too tapori type for my liking.

  4. She looks good! I will take this over the ones from 90’s trying so hard to look young and be on trend. At least she has the age/body to pull of such looks with or without stylists.

  5. Those blue tinted glasses …arrgghh! She is very pretty in a traditional way and if this outfit is an attempt at casual chic, its just failing.
