In Oscar De La Renta

Freida accompanied boyfriend Dev Patel to the premiere of his movie “The Last Airbender” tonight in a green Oscar De La Renta Resort 2011 dress. She pretty much stuck to the look on the runway, pairing the dress with gold jewellery and adding black pumps and a Roger Vivier clutch.

On the runway, the green seems so much paler but I actually love that it really isn’t like that in real life.

A Floral Fix

Florals have been big this season and Ms. Zinta has also jumped on it. She was first spotted in a casual white floral dress at Maheep Kapoor’s birthday bash and yesterday sported a more formal floral sheath dress in L.A. at a celebration dinner for actor Ben Kingsley.

The white one isn’t much of a favorite but do love the black formal one. Wish we had a good full-length of that one. She paired the black dress with a yellow Fendi pochette.

Update: The white dress is a Zara and the right an Oscar De La Renta. Thanks “alchemist” and “divya”.

In Oscar De La Renta

While a lot of you didn’t much care for Natasha’s appearance from last time (Payal included), I actually did. The formal cocktail dress with the crazy heels was a fun twist. To me, the dress would’ve worked equally well for an uptown cocktail affair with a pair of pumps or say on someone like Shruti Hassan while performing with her grunge band… comes down to how it was styled. And I didn’t mind the way Natasha styled it on herself and to me she didn’t look overwhelmed by her outfit at all.

But even I can’t justify this recent look of hers. Spotted in an Oscar de la Renta top (and we think the suit is too), this look was just way too matronly. The overdone gold accessories with the gold suit only reminded us of a wizened old English woman at tea (no offense to English women but you get the drift) or an aggressive cougar and it’d be safe to say, neither was a ‘look’ Natasha was going for.

At The Races

Natasha attended the ‘Veer’ exhibition race wearing a strapless Oscar De La Renta dress and offset the feminine feel of the dress with the grungy Balmain jewelled sandals. Not only did the dress feel too out of place for the day event, I for one, didn’t like the sandals with the dress. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing part-feminine/part-grunge look but this dress is just too formal.

In Oscar De La Renta. Again.

Last year, Anu Dewan gave us two Oscar De La Renta looks (see here and here) at the HDIL Couture week. This year, Ms. Patel seems to have been bitten by the De La Renta bug because she was spotted in yet another Oscar De La Renta dress from the Fall 2009 collection that she paired with an Oscar De La Renta Minaudiere.

Our biggest complain with this look, how could she pass up the divine Darjeeling minaudiere (see here) for this one. This one is so bleh.
