Deepika went for drama in her Dundas gown that featured an exaggerated bow at the waist and a long sweeping train. With her hair pulled back in to a real high ponytail, she rounded out the look with striking eye make-up, Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Aquazzura sandals.

While we do appreciate the fact that she attempted giving us something unexpected on the red carpet, the effect in the end didn’t quite pan out. Between the bow and train (not to mention the fabric used) the gown felt over-designed and, between the hair and make-up, the styling felt overly thought out and in the end, the whole look just felt too gimmicky. Disregard bottom-half of the gown and Deepika looked great waist-up!

Deepika walked the red carpet in an Ashi Studio couture gown. Jewel-toned pumps and stunning Lorraine Schwartz jewels complemented the gown rather well. And finally, all that pink fluff was perfectly off set with a sleek updo, smokey eyes and nude-ish lip.

Look, it’s no mean feat to let all that knife-pleated, sculpted tulle not overwhelm you; major props to Deepika for owning it. She made it work and then some!

On a different note, wish her stylist and she picked another Ashi gown, one that wasn’t already extensively used in editorials and been so visible on Instagram. The over exposure killed the drama that should’ve come with this sighting. Minor gripe considering regardless of all that, Ms. Padukone shone.

In case you didn’t know, Priyanka was included this year in Time Magazine’s 100 most influential list and attended the Time 100 Gala in NYC on Tuesday evening.

For the gala, the actor picked a white suit from Danish label ST. studio by Olcay Gulsen and wore it with a lariat necklace from Lorraine Schwartz and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. The look while striking had a few faults. Given the event, the revealing neckline felt a bit out of place but we could still live with that. What we couldn’t live with was that two shades two white foundation and the awkward looking top bun.

Think she did good?
