In case you are wondering what happened to day three, it was a menswear-centric day and we’ll be coming back to it after we finish womenswear.

Taking inspiration from his home state’s attire, Nagaland born Imcha Imchen presented a collection of men and women’s wear in organic cotton and silk with vegetable dyes. ‘How Many Stories Can You See On My Face’ comprised of block print/double layered tops, draped dresses for women with pleated shirts and wrap around skirts for men.

On day two, we saw the innovative ‘Button Masala’ collection by Anuj Sharma. Day four also presented another innovation collection by Neha Agarwal. ‘I Stole From Him’ was rooted in two basic pieces: a long shift dress and an oversized net jacket. Neha combined several different fabrics like voile, silk, chiffon and net and came up with multiple creations that all stuck to the root theme of the one dress and one jacket. I, for one, loved the whole collection.

‘Breathe’, the collection by Kiran and Megha, consisted of smock dresses and pinafores in beige, white and black. Most of the dresses had a contrasting gold hemline or an underlying layer in a different print to form a contrast with the top one. The flowy silhouettes will appeal to a lot especially when you think of the hot summers that we sometimes go through.

Virtues also presented a Bridal collection, ‘Forever’, but instead of using bold colors that we normally associate marriage festivites with, the designers went with a more muted color palette that consisted of sea green, beige and soft pinks. What I liked about this collection was the use of gold without it feeling blingy but what I didn’t like about this collection was the tailoring on some of the cholis, very ill-fitted on the models.
