Sapna Bhavnani styled the models who walked at The Collective’s spring fashion show. She attended the show in a Kallol Datta prison-slate dress that Priyanka and I love!
Compared to her usual style (see inside), this is a more toned look for the hair stylist who has a style mantra some would call punk-ish.
You may love it or hate it but you cannot deny that Sapna definitely has a unique spunky look. One that I, for one, love.

It’s no secret, Kallol Datta is one of our favorite designers and this most recent collection of his has us once again gush in his favor. Taking forward the theme of “illustrations” and “Jailstripes” from his last collection, the designer showed looks that played off of texture, layering and clever styling.
Pants, jackets, saris and dresses in fabric like voile and habutai (a thin silk) made up the collection. My favorite perhaps has to be the ‘Sathya Saran’ dress (extreme left, first row) where the red printed dress had a rather unusual detailing on the back- the fringe/yarns bunched and plaited paying a tribute to the journalist Sathya Saran. You’ve got to love the cheeky take. Styling aside, that fringe dress needs to find it’s way in to our closets!

Spotted on Shilpa (of Little Shilpa), a Kallol Datta dress which she paired with a lucite headband from her own collection (that she showed at LFW Summer/Resort 2010).
So fun. What’s not to love?

After wearing Kallol Datta to New York Fashion Week, Ms. Mallis chose another dress fresh off of the designer’s latest collection, this time to wear to the opening night of LFW.
His showing was one of our favorites last time around and can’t wait to see what he does this time.
On an aside, we wonder how long before Kallol gets his own show at NYFW, what with Fern sporting his clothes so-very-often! ;)
