In James Ferreira

Dev and Freida made an appearance at the NAACP Image Awards tonight with Freida in a James Ferreira draped gown. The green gown looked great on her and the ruby colored Leiber clutch made for the perfect contrast.

The side-swept hair was a good move as it showed off the detailing of the gown well but the finish of the hairdo itself felt amateurish. I am now convinced that she is doing her own hair which would explain why all her recent appearances have been not so stellar.

Carol attended a recent event in James Ferreira. And though the model pulled off the look to some degree of success, we can’t help but think it looked forced. This one is a ‘Not Quite’.

In Kallol Datta

Love the Sailex cropped jacket with the Kallol Datta dress that Sona Mohapatra wore to a recent screening.

The cut-out on the dress took me by surprise and personally, not a fan. Makes me uncomfortable almost. But am not the one wearing it, Ms. Mohapatra is. And she seems to be doing a pretty good job of it.

A black envelope clutch and James Ferreira shoes completed her look.

The Model Way

At a recent launch spotted Dippanita in Nachiket Barve. A clutch also by the designer and black heels completed her look. For Binal, it was a James Ferreira dress.

WLIFW Spring 2013: James Ferreira

James Ferreira is masterful at playing with drapes and some of the looks presented were a clear evidence of that. The soft subdued florals were interesting, as was the use of Indian kitsch. Most have the tendency to go the colorful, ott route when going kitschy, so this sure made for an interesting change. Where the designer did lose me, was over the striped designs. They just didn’t feel like they belonged in the same collection.
