On The Runway

22

Jewellery designer Maheep Kapoor‘s show was presented by real (per a PR note/and her friends) women (instead of models) sporting her designs. It started with Ayesha in a strapless blue number and ended with Sonakshi in a white strapless gown with others sporting different black numbers all designed by Seema Khan.

We don’t have closeup of the jewellery and so can’t quite comment on that but what do you think of Seema’s designs on these ladies?

On The Ramp: Part Deux

While Lilette and Ira Dubey walked for Mirari & Sons in Gauri and Nainika, Queenie walked alongside her showstopper Dino (wearing a locket from her design) in a Vizyon design. Both gowns seemed much too long for the ladies (Lilette and Queenie) with them holding it up with their hands and it didn’t translate well in pictures. Adding to the gown woes was Lilette’s hair, it looks so badly done. Ira, on the other hand looked great in her short number.

You’ll remember Suzanne wearing the same gown Lilette (with the rosette detail) has on for Farah Khan Ali’s show at the Couture Week Jewellery show held last year (see here).

And yet another MA for Ms. Dubey! Sigh.

(Catch pictures of Sonam, Lisa and Amrita from the same event here.)

In Manish Arora

Before her drab avatar in Mumbai, Ira got to wear yet another Manish Arora to the Dior Auction charity event held in Delhi at the DLF Emporio Mall.

From what we hear she got to wear another Manish Arora in Ahmedabad at the screening of the movie at the International Film Festival. (Still waiting on pics from that event, though.)

Underwhelmed

Update: So, apparently the movie’s official screening is to be at the AIFF and that’s where the ladies will step out in their Red Carpet best.

Anyone else feel cheated? All those fabulous Manish Aroras/other outfits leading up to the movie, and on the actual screening day, this is all we get?

Sure it was a “screening” and not a full-blown “premiere“. And sure everyone else kept it casual too. But… Considering the integral part clothes play in this movie and the fact that the leading ladies had us all in a tizzy over those promo appearances, couldn’t she have just give us something MORE?

Meh. Am just going to pretend this never happened.
