An ambassador for Kalyan Jewellers, Aishwarya inaugurated their Pune store a few days ago wearing a red angarkha Amrita Thakur suit.
Between the dupatta and the sleeves, the gold leaf motif on the red suit felt a bit loud. We weren’t fans of it. You like?

Aishwarya attended the Royal Ascot race on Monday wearing a lace dress with a custom fascinator by Philip Treacy. Considering she was last seen in traditional wear at the Singapore race event last year, we’re glad that she stuck to the dress code here.
She looked nice but the belt felt like an after-thought and made the dress look too prom-ey.

The Chime For Change campaign kicked off with a concert today with many singers taking part and many celebs in attendance offering their support to the initiative for women’s empowerment.
In addition to Freida, Abhishek and Aishwarya were also in attendance with the former in a suit and the latter in an all black look. At first glance, I was amazed by how great she looked. But, the more I look at the outfit the more I find the blazer not fitting in with the rest of the look that screams rock chick.

While at Cannes, Aishwarya has been making appearances off the red carpet as well. A media call saw her in a look consisting of a YSL shirt, Zac Posen skirt and an Armani belt which we found very reminiscent of Carolina Herrera. If Jessica Miller hadn’t given us the same look (in Dolce & Gabbana) already, we would’ve loved to see this on the red carpet as well.
Her portrait session look in the silk lace blouse and pants was a very flattering one at first glance but the more we looked, the more the black (waistcoat) on black didn’t make sense.

Vidya isn’t the only one to sport Sabyasachi while in Cannes. To attend the Gala celebrating hundred years of Indian cinema, Aishwarya picked a Sabyasachi couture lehenga-sari. The Bollywood meets Baroque vibe of the lace and velvet sari with its gold work was rather interesting.
Sure it was blingy and it even reminded us of the whole Dolce and Gabbana vibe from Fall, but we did think Aishwarya channeling her inner baroque princess in the sari made for an interesting change. Of what we see, we like. Once we see more, it may (or may not) change.
