At The Met Gala

With an Alexander McQueen tribute and a red carpet that was dominated by Stellas & Chanels, it was nice to see a few spottings of Escada at the 2011 Met Gala. Yes, we do have a soft spot for the label. We are kind of proud to see Megha (Mittal) turn the brand around.

Demi Moore and Ciara stepped out in Prabal Gurung gowns at the Met Gala whereas, for Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, it was her grandmother Ingrid Bergman’s gown that she wore which was restored and re-worked by Mr. Gurung (see the ‘Before’ here) for the Gala.

Of the three ladies, have a favorite on the red carpet? Just for the history behind it, an automatic favorite of ours is Elettra.

Wearing Louis Vuitton, Isabel channelled McQueen Fall 08 look by pairing some beautiful jewelry with her Vuitton gown. Though we aren’t exactly gushing over the gown, it does make for a great foil for all that jewelry. We like.

At The Met Gala

How we look forward to Met Gala! *Heaven*

Ms. Pinto’s appearance in Chanel couture at the Met Gala was bit of a letdown; so anti-climatic. This gown needed to be worn by someone who really could work it… Freida sure couldn’t. Wish she had stuck to a prettier (and safer) gown and left this one for someone like Dello Russo or Kruger.

P.S Blake Lively was in Chanel too and we absolutely loved her look! Is it just us or does a quick look at the gown remind you of a sari as well? Love!
