    Is it a rhinestone border or plain old gota?? Or am I totally out of the loop and gota is actually called rhinestone border???

      Honest question… can you explain me what is gota and what is it made of? I know how a rhinestone looks ( atleast I am assuming).

        A Google search will be more enlightening (not being patronising) as I doubt I am equipped enough to describe the humble desi gota… If I must try,they are ribbon like strips in varying widths, in metallic colors…

        gota is stitched strips of zari.this looks rhinestone though

        Rhinestones are literally colored tiny stones.
        Gota is made of golden woven thread. the shiny gold-colored stuff that’s on most dupattas placed on idols of lady-gods.
        Gota is usually very inexpensive, and also looks that way in most cases.
