Sari Style

It was a surprise,a good one at that, to see Tabu on the red carpet of the Golden Globes award. The actress, not surprising anyone, opted for a red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari featuring an ornate gold blouse.

Unfortunately, these are the best pics we have of her so far. :(

Update: Added more pictures.

  4. Anon says:

She looks stunning. Not a big fan of full sleeve blouses on saris but the overall look is perfection

  5. Anu says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE this look, LOVE LOVE LOVE that Blouse!!!

Shweta Bachchan also wore an Abu Sandeep gown with that same fabric on AB’s 70th b’day bash. It was my all time favorite look on her as well.

I guess it just might be the fabric!!

    anyway,
    Tabu Rocks!!!

  6. Tanveer says:

  7. Sal(SS) says:

    PERFECTION.

  8. asmozonic says:

    LOVELY!

(i can imagine how Aishwarya would have chosen the fabric of the blouse and worn a whole suit of it!)

  9. Hearty says:

Take lessons the other bollywood wannabes who always dress tacky even in a saree. This is how you can look glamorous and elegant .

  10. harry says:

how come tabu always gets Abu Sandeep right while ash always gets it wrong with them? :D

  11. Shruthi says:

That’s how you do classy and elegant without showing skin but also without drowning oneself in a tent…take note ash!

  12. Rajvi Bhow says:

while i love the concept of a simple contrast saree with a heavy blouse.. I don’t like the sloppy draping

  13. Food Poisoned Attorney says:

She does look amazing!!! Heart the blouse:)

  14. karishma says:

she looks beautiful! she’s such an underrated star.

  15. Sui says:

    WOWW!!! LOVEE! LOVEEEEE!

Love how classy and regal she looks in that beautiful red saree….and I absolutely heart the blouse…she looks gorgeous!

  16. Sorry she is wearing the red carpet. It matches the sari. Not a good look. Why are one note (either white on white or gold on a color in heavy looking drapes for clothes) designers like Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla considered experts for the red carpet overseas. Her lovely face saves her this time.

Finally, I completely agree wt you. I was just in as shock as soon as I saw this pic. I am die heart fan of Abu-Snadeep n Tabu but in this case it is a miss! poorly! The MORE the Merrier doesnt go wt this scenerio at all. Tabu’s hair also was a dwner. I dunno. I still feel tht this wasnt the best representation of Abu jani – Sandeep. it is just my 2 cents~

  17. Priya says:

I personally find the blouse tacky. If the blouse did not have the abu jani label i wonder how acceptable it would be as high end wear.

  18. Trupti says:

At times when I look at it, I like it, other times, I don’t as much. I don’t hate it… but I guess this one’s on the fence for me…

  19. dn says:

She looks great despite the unimpressive blouse and mirrorwork. More power to her. Hope to see her at the Oscars.

  20. adya says:

Taboo is baeutiful and classy. The sari and that awful blouse, not so much. I just don’t get what makes Abu Sandeep so great, when all their designs look so clunky and garish.

  21. sheetal says:

Her blouse looks like an armour! Hate it!!

  22. Ragini says:

in India she wears gown for award shows and then wears a blingy saree at GG….go figure.

  23. Teespeak says:

    Classic beauty.:*

  24. allwyn says:

elegance at its best …Tabu nails it again In AJSK :)
