In Eka
At the screening of Umrika at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, producer Swati Shetty was seen in an Eka sari. Props not only for going the desi route but also for keeping it earthy and bling-free.
Catch her inside in another Eka sari from the opening night.

Love it.
P.S. She’s hot!! Who is she?
someone high-ranking in Ekta Kapoor’s film company (Balaji)
She looks delicious! ( can I use that term here?) 🙂
Left the bling out but not the cleavage. And bling free and ‘earthy’ does not exactly translate into anything thats worth giving a second look here.
LMAO! Yes that sums up the mentality totally.
And what exactly is the problem with cleavage? Also, since when is it compulsory that ‘earthy’ and ‘bling-free’ have to exclude showing one’s cleavage. Jesus! Every woman has it and can show it even while wearing an ‘earthy’ look. What an uneducated and regressive comment.
*clap clap*
Thank you for this comment , Jiminywiminy.
She has enough personality to go bling free and look good in muted colors. This lady owns her look.
Much prefer her second look. The first one with the cleavage felt all too plain and casual.
The saree looks like a lungi, and that sloppy drape brings it down a few more notches.
For how to do “earthy and elegant”, look no further than Nandita Das.
Lol. Yes lungi or more like a thorthu from Keralam. 😀
Much prefer the hair down look. She looks gorgeous!
I love cotton saree’s but can’t get on board with this one. It is untidy and not at all elegant. My mom is a very elegant and sophisticated lady and she dresses like this at home and she would never step out looking like this.
Can we have Shahid’s wedding pictures, P&P? He looks YUMMY. 😉
She looks better in the second picture.
The first one, you may call, earthy, natural etc..but bottomline is that she looks a mom ready to cook dinner.
Love the second look. The first one could’ve been better styled..perhaps with some accessories. It looks too bare.
And jeez, I don’t have enough palms to put on my face for that cleavage comment above.
I think a nice statement necklace would’ve helped that very drab sari look a bit better.
She looks good but the boob show is a little too trashy.
#staysophisticated
Yeah classy & sophistication is important for fashion of any race, culture or sub culture. It doesn’t matter if the sari is “earthy” handloom or blinged out Manish Malhotra, this kind of low blouse is bordering trashy. Nandita das can probably be a start point for her reference if she wants to do “earthy” & “classy” without being trashy.
The comments in HHC drive me insane – and I only check in once in awhile, shudder to think of it on a daily basis. No appreciation or understanding of fashion subcultures, experimentation, fabrics, history, culture. If it is a cotton or silk sari expect maid, mom, granny, aunty, sloppy, horrible, I can get this for Rs 500 etc. Blinged up sari, lehenga, some designer dude from the West, what Anna Wintour is touting, favourite actress, toned lady expect hit it out of the ballpark! Only consolation is the daughters of the commenters are gonna shriek in 20 years mom what were you wearing. Unlike this lady’s daughter, if she has one.
Second look is neat ! Wish she had tried a little more in the first look. I would call it ‘being a fashion snob’. The carelessly draped pallu , ill fitting blouse…..her face is the saving grace.
The first look is my fave hands down!
People really need to calm down about a woman having cleavage. Sometimes your body type is such that its inevitable. And even if someone does it on purpose, what’s the harm? We aren’t talking nipple pasties but a hint of it is in no way trashy. I feel bad for these people who have never hugged a woman long enough to know that boobs dont bite.
haha +1
My domestic help dresses better. sorry to say but this is plain ordinary..rather below ordinary
Take a bow, Teena, take a bow
Like both sarees. Second one is draped better. She should have worn a brighter colored blouse and added a silver statement necklace to the white saree.
Showing cleavage, wearing bling are all done to I assume make one look and feel attractive. So who decides whic of two is accepatable. For the women on beach in bikinis of course cleavage show is okay and for others who wear bling , of course bling is okay.So if ppl on this forum are pro cleaveg they shouldn’t thouw stones at bling and vice versa.Personally being a women I feel women show way more skin than men do.dunno why !
Simple. Hypocrisy & double standards pretty high around here if you haven’t yet noticed. lol.
right you are !
Still,, you come here to comment on each n every.damn.post!! REPEATEDLY!! You must love those two!! 😛 😉 @avani
Also ppl around who would get so offended by comments on skin colour but are OK with making nasty comments about size and being aunty. Depends on what pushes your button.
Lady has striking looks and awesome body to make anything look good, but i wish the hair was neater in the first pic
fabulous looks! she’s very graceful & beautiful.. love both looks, second more!
