Hate the look, but she is making it work – like she does most of the MM’s that she wears.

Very different look. Shirt and lehenga and it’s looking very pretty! She wears Manish Malhotra outfits too well and styling always on point

I must be in the minority. I don’t like it at all.

Is there any event that she not invited to?!! Is she a huge singer…haven’t heard any songs.

Nope, she made a few, rather sad/bad songs. I’ve learnt music for years myself, I know a bad note when I hear one :P
I really don’t get why she’s all over the place, or how she affords the gorgeous stuff she wears!
Not complaining though, she carries herself really well.

These designers give them the clothes for free to wear, or they pay them to wear their designs for marketing and they return them back, to whoever is the ‘it’ girl now no matter you have a solid career in Btown or not.
For eg: Urmila had a long running career, but now she is not relevant anymore.

Yeah, that’s something exceptionally suck-ey about our hindi film industry.
They themselves deem their own irrelevant, and completely forget someone’s worth. Not saying Urmila was a great actress, but what she and Karisma as contemporaries did to Bollywood fashion, is commendable.

I think all of us know how the industry works, if you have the right “connections” and make compromises, you can excel. Maybe not for long but they can. I have seen her do item numbers down South. I always appreciate the fact that she wears clothes which suit her and her body type. :)

Yeah actually, every time I see a telugu / tamil movie, I’m surprised by the number of hindi film actors I recognize.

          1. Avani at |

Yes. Tamil/Telugu industry have always had people from Bollywood donning several roles and it is good that they keep it varied and not regional. Some fun facts, Aishwarya & Priyanka chopra both of their debut movies were in Tamil movie industry. :)

Apparently she hosted the event that day! I follow her on Instagram and she is always travelling performing at live events. Maybe she is really good at hosting & performing . Anyway this is a fashion blog and to me she is one of the best turned out celebs on red carpet, is sexy but not tacky. Never thought about pairing a lehenga and a shirt. Very cool

I’ve been wondering the same. How is she everywhere? I think she’s just a really smart, well-connected networker.

What I’m saying here might be irrelevant, but I’ve seen 2 (yes, exactly 2) short interviews of her on YouTube and she comes across as an articulated, well-read woman. She’s lived and studied in Europe, learnt dance forms, and ‘tries’ singing and acting. I think she’s much better than the likes of Zarine Khan, Daisy Shah, and also Yana Gupta. Maybe that she can hold a conversation well, and also knows a lot of people from Bollywood, gets her invited to these soirees.

That said, I love this dress. She usually dresses well and knows what works on her.

Yup, would take a well-read person any day over people with zero personalities and great bods.

Yeah that’s why I admire and respect actresses like Amala Akkineni, Nandita Das and Dia Mirza, ‘beauty with brains’. I simply can’t admire great bodies.
