In Anamika Khanna

It was a desi look again for Ms. Kapoor, this time in an Anamika Khanna suit. We love the colorful border but have to admit the off center embroidery on the dupatta seemed a tad bit odd.

  1. That’s a lovely suit & the earrings are gorgeous too!!I don’t think the embroidery is off centre….she is not wearing the dupatta proportionally

  2. the woman is sooo gorgeous..!! love love love the bright pink-purple border on the dupatta.
.not diggin the border and the pale golden shaded part on the kurta edges though.. maybe am a lil old school( read boring) but if the dupatta has a striking detail..i like it to not be repeated anywhere in the outfit..

  3. The embroidery on the dupatta is so overwhelming that she decided to wear it on the side. I agree, would have looked a lot worse in the centre.

  4. I like a smart sleek suit that makes one look elegant…

Hate the billowy, drowning kurtas on the market these days…makes you look stumped and drowning in all the fabric…no flattering sillhoute…I don’t see thepoint…

If Sonam (with her statesque height) can’t work this…I don’t think anyone can….

  5. I love the suit, the earrings… the whole ensemble is fantastic… the thing that is putting this off is the way she has draped the dupatta… but cannot see any other better way to drape it to show off the embroidery… but love the suit! 🙂

  6. Just WOW….I love this outfit. Love everything about this – the pink border, the blue and offgold triangle design and oddly even the off-gold border and pattern on dupatta!!!! Even though it looks like a lot is going on, they all look very subtle and provide the punch in their own ways! Love that Sonam settled for a big chunky earring and kept all other accessories minimal, incl shoes – simple ballet flats!!! Love it – now where can I get this? 🙂

  8. dupatta is gorgeous…would’ve looked much better (and not ott) if suit was simpler, to make dupatta stand out…btw she went to li’l champs or balika vadhu?? she looks like shes dressed for a wedding.

  9. The girl is just tooooo pretty. For some reason, she reminds me of Rekha, in the ‘middle’ and the ‘right’ picture. Does anyone see that too..??

  10. I am beginning to like Sonam Kapoor in whatever she wears, coz its always looks so good on her. In here, the clothes again look fabulous on her, The Dupatta may be slightly tilted to one side but the work on it is still meant to be on one side of the Duppatta and not on the entire front and I think its different and pretty.

One small thing that I dont like about this look is the heavy makeup which is more apparent in the 3rd picture. She doesnt need this cake like make up nor is her young face carrying it well.

  12. It looks like the kind of dress I would get stitched from mom’s old jari-laden saari. Without seeing what the sleeves are like, I wouldn’t want to comment much on the dress.

I like the earrings quite a lot.

  13. Agree with you. I am so done with Anarkali’s. What’s up with indian designers – And the really long kurtis – Jeez – everyone ends up looking like Meena Kumari.
