In Elie Saab

At the Star Screen Awards, Sonam went all black sporting a Fall 2015 Elie Saab look. The black jumpsuit featuring a plunging keyhole neckline was worn with the runway full-sleeved long jacket but instead of wearing lace-up boots with the two, she opted for suede boots under her pants.

Call me a prude but I for one am just not a fan of such necklines but that wasn’t the issue I had with her look. The short hemline of the pants is what is throwing the look off for me a wee bit. Just me feeling that way?

  1. Not a fan of her pouts especially when she has such a lovely smile. Idk why Sonam’s boob show always screams TACKY to me. She just can’t pull it off.

  2. Looks way better on the model. She doesn’t have great cleavage to keep showing it off. I said once and I will say it again put them away Sonam and go back to your previous classy looks.

  3. I like the hair and make-up, am glad that this is not a frilly, fancy look.

However, why does Sonam always cover her butt and show her boobs? They are too ample to be put on open display, look at how flat-chested the model is. 🙂

This time the coat is hiding her ‘problem’ area. What’s wrong with it, Sonam?

  4. The dress/pant-suit is fine on Sonam. Styling could have been different. But, I would give her a break…I think she’s wearing boots and that is why the cuffs on the pants are off. Refer to Elie Saab’s tweet of Liu Wen, who’s wearing same outfit. Let’s give Sonam a break…she likes to try different things, and it must be cold in outside (I don’t know for sure, I don’t live in India). I choose not to comment on her cleavage.

  5. Can I just unsee that ? I have seen people do plunging necklines with a lot more grace and sex appeal . I don’t understand why it’s necessary to go the whole nine yards and expose nearly every Single time .otherwise makeup and hair looked nice. Actually the whole look would have worked better if she had kept it classy and kept the boob show out .

  6. The hem line isn’t an issue. The boots that she chose to wear them with are. I don’t mind the deep plunging neckline…might be a bit unusual in India but as long as it doesn’t look indecent…it’s fine!

  7. I like the outfit, but not for an award show. Normally I don’t have a problem with cleavage show by Sonam but this keyhole look is kinda tacky, especially the way the ‘girls’ are displayed. Makeup and hair is lovely though.

  8. It always warms my heart to see this generation of actresses pay tribute to yesteryear’s actresses….

  9. Her concerted effort to hide her hips, by exposing her cleavage is getting old now. But thank god its not a poufy gown yet again. She looks ok

  10. Female super hero! I wish the cape wasn’t there & there was a nice palazzo instead of fitted pants. She would have looked lovely in it!

  11. The choice of boots ruin the look, IMO. I don’t have an issue with the cut-out detail, but it looks a little odd on Sonam. (It looks fine on the model though). Her hair and make up are flawless.

  12. Yuck k&k
Sonam keeps doing the under view cleavage show that looks really bad, not sexy/ hot or even vulgar which is too mild. But looks plain despo and cheap
Wish I could unsee what I just did!

  13. screams tacky and desperate. This is Kim K material. Enough with this unflattering cleavage show, Sonam. Do it well or drop it altogether.

  14. Agree about the length of the pants. Also, the cape ruins everything. Can’t wait for the stupid cape trend to die. I blame Gwyneth Paltrow.

  15. wasnt this in bombay? I get that she s trying to be out there- but shouldnt it be just a bit more weather appropriate? imagine this in hot, humid bombay!

  16. I think she looks good! She’s trying something different, and that’s a feat in itself. However, I wish she’s put her hair up in some way, or gone for straight hair, and worn different shoes.

  17. I kinda like the outfit but just doesn’t look award night worthy. Also I find those kid of necklines hot (a la Blake Lively) but it’s somehow sitting weirdly on Sonam’s cleavage. Maybe she should try a different style of plunging neckline

  18. Wow! The hate on this page, boy!

PnP, been a reader since 2009 and love this blog. Over the last year, I’m seeing comments getting far too personal and at times getting to borderline bullying.

I’m sure you guys do your best to moderate but surely the comments should be more about fashion? Not to compare but RCFA had mastered the art of allowing purely look – relevant comments and not name calling or suchlike.
