In Dior

It was yet another great look from Sonam, who was spotted in a Dior dress paired with a Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily mini satchel and peep-toe pumps. Loved the hair do.

  1. good for her that she has the fashionista or the stylish tag but you know i wish to see her in a pair of jeans..it’ll be so refreshing..seeing her like this, all made up from top to toe is becoming way too boring already.

    • totally agree….. she always looks like she must have spent hours/days planning what she is going to where….and it was refreshing a while back, but now it just looks jaded….

and it also looks uber-wierd when she shows up at events brutally overdressed where everyone is rocking a pair of jeans and a t-shirt…

style should be effortless…and hers looks almost as orchestrated as the Berlin Philharmonic …!!!

    • The model´s pick is retouched, as they always are + she is as “flatchested” as they come. Would have loved to see a pic from the runway to compare the looks, but again Dior´s fittings are really off since Galliano left imho. I have yet to come accross a design from recent time that wows.

  2. Yes, the model is probably size “000” and the photo retouched. Sonam is looking normal and girly and pretty…nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either!

  3. Something abt the dress seems off – the torso fit and the flare
At the hips. Heck, even the sleeves don’t work. After seeing chitrangada’s
pic in a jeans and a shirt, I would love to see sonam work
    something basic like that.

    • Interesting but the more I think abt it Hepburn’s timeless style has also to do with her on screen charm…which Sonam has none. Would say Kangana is closer.

But that aside, Sonam looks great here.

      • Sonam has no screen charm? um ok. If she has no charm then every other actress is bollywood or hollywood must be a redneck from southern Mississippi.

        • You might want to chill a bit before jumping at my throat, just a differing opinion. That’s a pretty extreme comparison to say redneck and but unfortunately like it or not wearing great clothes does not translate to great acting or otherwise. I like her sense of style in general….but nothing else translates on screen.

          • I am not talking about great acting. This blog isn’t about that so lets not even go there. The whole idea about her not having charm is what got me. Sonam has a laugh, a childlike smile, this girly way of carrying herself that all just adds to her charm. To me she has a grace, a charm that is completely missing in this generation. And like it or not I am still going to be a fan of hers.

          • Well if yr goin to compare her to Hepburn yes then I differ!!! Does look fabulous in pics and anywhere she is photographed…I won’t deny that. Anything beyond a pic…its all downhill. Grace or charm has to translate beyond a standstill pic…thats y I think its too strong a word to use for her yet….

  4. Sonam looks beautiful. But when will designers start making dresses for real women? That’s where the challenge lies. I love the dress on the model, but if Sonam can’t pull it off, I can’t even dream of it!

  5. She looks SO adorable!
And about working something basic, why should she have to?
She likes going all the way, and that’s why we love her. Who wants to look at women in jeans?a1 I’d just take a walk around Delhi for that!!

  6. Not feeling the hair at all. I get retro but it comes off looking costumey and not at an effortless look. The shoes don’t compliment the dress. Prefer the models styling way more than Sonams. Slick back ponytail with lace booties would have balanced the girlie’ness of the dress too.

  7. Very gamine and adorable. I don’t know why she is being slagged for not wearing jeans and a t-shirt to an event. We never see Fan Bing Bing or Diane Kruger in jeans and t-shirts at events (unless the latter is at a music festival or something). Just because Indian celebrities have been dressing inappropriately for events for years, why does Sonam have to follow suit? We see her casual style at airports and so on.

  8. Something basic doesn’t have to be the done to death pair of jeans and a tee…she does basic so many times and with much more elan than the crowd…but I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for P&P to point this out but they just won’t…why on earth can’t she experiment on footwear,Giambattista Valli,or Kirkwood, or Bontoni..nowadays I just mechanically ignore her dress and my eyes go straight to her shoes and I end up invariably disappointed..

  9. personally have mostly loved sonam’s style, but off late it has become tooooo costumy. One gets the feeling that she is taking this whole dressing up this too far – too much time an energy being put in.
One should look sleek and effort less – not like one has put in days of thought into every single ‘look’

  10. save the jeans and a Tee for your when you’re lounging around the house. I think Sonam is uber classy and all women should dress like this when stepping out of their house. No matter what the occasion. You never know who you’re going to run into.. so it’s better to be prepared than not. 🙂
