Unfortunately a Fail from me! Its not a great gress to begin with and its not working on Sonam..who usually works anything very well!

You have awful taste!!! That dress is gorgeous! It’s a sheath dress and accentuates curves. The colors are rich! Olive!!
I’d hate to see what tacky clothes u like

HATE the hair with that dress..a nice straight ponytail would have looked great!

This photo doesn’t do much justice to her. Not sure if its the same dress but she looks smokin hot in that video where she’s being interviewed alongside her dad n sister. Also i like her hair much better there. its pulled back in a ponytail with a puff on top.

      agreed! :D

I saw that video too… the dress and sonam def looked 1000 times better than in a photo..also how adorable were anil, sonam and rhea?

I think she kept the hair down and made the dress look ordinary here because she was meeting up with fans. I think the hair with the dress makes her look more down to earth. In the video with her family she looks more diva-ish. So I think it is appropriate for the event :)

I dunno i feel something missing in this outfit .. i wish if she did a different hair style

    LOVE the dress
HATE the hair (isnt it the nth time she is repeating this hairstyle with the pinned hair? And you point it out on Bipasha)
HOPE she hasnt killed this look with flats

On an aside, its been so fabulous to see Sonam dressing so well from so many events. A few misses here and there but far far better than the usual tackiness we are subjected to in Bollywood. Finally there is someone who can carry couture :)

she wears the same dress with pulled-back hair in an interview the kapoor’s did with ndtv.
by the way awesome blog. been a silent reader for over a year :)

Yeah ur right.. the hair is such a downer for such a chic dress.. a chignon wud have done wonders for this look..

i agree. But she looks fab overall ! Love the show pairing with this dress !

I somehow feel the bust fit on Sonam wouldn’t have been great. Hence, the hair is good as is. I like the dress. Not one of the best of the dior choices out there, but definitely a nice wearable one.

She looks pretty as ever, the dress is just okay.

Not her best. but she just has it in her!

Oh no! I can’t look past her terrible eye make up :-( What on earth are those white patches below her eyes??! The dress itself is quite ordinary. It doesn’t suit her skin tone, and the bad make up isn’t helping.

    1. lolita at | | Reply

She has a bad case of dark circles and covers them up with make-up under the eyes.

I saw a couple of her natural makeup-free pics and here dark circles are downright scary..and with her current weight loss they must gotten worse…

      1. KityPurry at | | Reply

Normal dark cirles…she looks very pretty without make-up.

Hm, she wore this for the Meet The Kapoors Video too..probably shot it around the same time. I think she wore nude-ish pumps.

  13. Megha Sharma at | | Reply

I disagree! Pulled back hair makes her face look unnaturally thin! The loose curls suit her, me thinks :)

Dior is my favorite, and I think Sonam looks good, but I also think she could have looked a lot better.
Look at how fabulously that dress combines styles from the 1930’s and 1940’s and how retro the model looks. Sonam’s hair covers all of that detail and makes the dress look completely ordinary.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Sonam is almost always very well styled. Her own sense of style, however, isn’t something I see at all. People like Dia Mirza, Diane Kruger, Dita Von Teese etc. totally own their look. I don’t get the same impression with Sonam.

    1. KityPurry at | | Reply

ugh! How can you put Dia Mirza up there? She’s the most boring dresser ever. Sonam is a billion times better dresser easillyyy…and most of the time, owns her look even if she’s wearing weird stuff.

      1. pdaervo at | | Reply

It’s not a matter of trends and fashion, it’s a matter of STYLE.
        Two completely different things.

        1. duh at | | Reply

i think sonam likes to experiment with different looks. i am also flexible with how i dress. it doesn’t mean i can’t distinguish between different style or have one distinct style. some finds one style and stick to it and some find it boring to stick with one style. it’s a personality thing. Dia likes to play it safe and have classic ladylike, veering towards girly appearance most of the time.

    2. Adara at | | Reply

Totally agree on the second para, Pdaervo!

    3. naiad at | | Reply

      Well said pdaervo :)

    4. RuchII at | | Reply

i agree that the model is wearing the dress better than sonam..but she is promoting a bollywood movie..and not in a photo-shoot..i bet the retro look wouldn’t have worked considering the event..and dia wears nice..clean-cut dresses..no risk..no change..no experimentation..nothing new..pretty much nothing to own in that look..!! and with all due respect to dia..i wouldn’t compare her style statement with Dita..

Such a great dress! Just how rich is Sonam to wear Dior ALL the time?? This is a $2200 dress!
Or does Dior (India) lends her clothes for events? I am so jealous… Someone lend me some Jean Paul Gaultier clothes please… :-)

dior rep kalyani chawla provided 80 pieces for the movie …for free:)

      1. HHC Fan at | | Reply

Yes and in addition designers and design houses are always sending her clothes to wear. She doesn’t buy everything.

      2. HHC Fan at | | Reply

Dior is also a sponsor of Aisha. I am guessing because they provided all the clothes/bags etc.

I just adore that smile :) and she sure is a lucky lady getting to wear all amazing lustworthy dresses!!

  19. chitown-fashionista at | | Reply

Its an adorable dress – but she totally killed it with the hair. Hides the beautiful neckline. And make up is bad as usual.

i actually love this.am i the only one?

    1. KityPurry at | | Reply

Nope, I love it too :D

    2. lolita at | | Reply

I love the dress too….its just that the color doesn’t go with olive skin tone too well, hence she looks almost matronly here…

  21. Meenakshi at | | Reply

uh huh…this doesn do it! the colour doesnt look great on her and there’s somethin wrong with the pose too!

  22. Hema at | | Reply

Looks better on the model than S. Something’s missing….not quite sure.

  23. Saffana at | | Reply

her hair hides the pretty neckline – and wtheyyy are those white patches under her eyes????

  24. Adara at | | Reply

P&P, how can u not mention about the bad(now recurring) make up?
Argggh. Dress is nice but not sure if it suits her
