In Atsu

It was an Atsu gown for Sonam Kapoor at the L’oreal Femina Women Awards and there’s no denying she wears the beaded gown rather well. We liked her look, tiara and all. Does the part retro, part princess-ey look work for you?

P.S: Anyone else getting a major Sander/Dior/Herrera vibe from the gown?

  1. That skirt is beautiful. The top does not work, the lacework makes the whole thing look too busy. Sonam looks pretty enough in a barbie way.

    • Agreed! Sonam looks amazing! It is a princess look! It’s not like she is pretending to be anything but royalty here 🙂 I am in love with this look! Also a refreshing change from her sarees in which she were equally awesome!

  2. Sorry guys but not liking it at all. She looks like she is trying too hard. Especially in the last few appearances. those hair, so prom-ish. I like it when she has that easy going vibe about her. This is her trying too hard, way too hard.

    • Totally agree to this. Its never effortless…So prom like.Hated the look from the overly worked black top and the bedsheet like design on the skirt…The shoes were the redeeming feature…

  3. For some reason, she doesn’t give off that movie star vibe anymore. These days she has been dressing/looking more like a fashion enthusiast/editor/socialite of some sort. Where’s all that quirk and fun we used to see from Sonam?

  4. The dress is not only sort of tacky, but is also way too busy and does nothing for her great body. With the beaded lace, the loud print, the poofy skirt, the high-low hemline, the hair and the tiara – it’s anything but elegant. The big bow makes her tiny waist look big.

  5. And so we head off to the prom, in a pretty skirt but a jarring top! Nothing great about this look. it just is…Glad there’s no ott make up so her face at least retains the prettiness.

  6. She no longer looks effortless. Everything looks very forced, trying too hard. She needs to lighten up – shes almost a fashion victim now.

    • Totally agree with you….I used love the way she carried herself but now unfortunately she is trying too hard….Most of the times she end up looking like she is going to a fancy dress parade..has a very b.
I really hope she will stop trying too hard.. she has a very beautiful face

  7. Yes there is a similar Jil Sander/Dior/Carolina Herrera vibe, because all these labels along with Atsu have a similar aesthetic i.e feminine, elegant, refined, princess-y.

  8. I think it’s pretty obvious by now Sonam loves to play dress up. She likes clothes and she likes to wear all kinds of things and do crazy things of which some works some fails. So what does trying too hard mean? I like that she tries to give us different, unique and interesting looks all the time! Even with a saree she is experimental! Why do you want her to stop trying to be different? :-/ Bollywood’s Blair Waldorf? Does she wear sarees too?

    • +1 .. Thank God for Sonam.. I would rather take her ‘try too hard’ looks over the Manish Malhotra dolls any day….I do think the top is bordering on tacky but she pulls it off so well

  10. Priyanka totally agree with you. When I first saw the picture I thought that the skirt was from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.
