In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Wearing Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, designers she is favoring a lot these days, Sonam attended a L’Oréal event on Friday. Ms. Kapoor might have been drawn to the dress because of the dramatic ruffles and you’d think with her height, she should be able to pull it off, but I don’t think she does.

I think the dress would fare better in a print ad with some dramatic theme than it does in real life.

P.S. Before you ask, how does one sit in a dress like this, we also included those pics for ya! 😛

  1. I’m going to go with a big no. I like it when she does quirky, weird dresses but not this one.

It looks like it was made for a 14 year old to wear to a school dance. Almost like those cheap fairy princess halloween costumes little kids wear.

Come on, Sonam. You’re like 30 years old now. You can do drama without trying to look like a 12 year old.

  2. It is a rare moment that Sonam gets her make up right. This is one of those. The dress is pretty strange and does not work with the styling… It needed something edgy rather than soft

  3. she looks lovely. Nope – it doesn’t look cheap. She is looking very elegant and totally pulling this look off.
Also, pet peeve: hate people telling women that they dress according to their age.

  4. Lol! Okay. When I see the “torso” of the dress, I feel like its some armour like dress which has a dhoti gown below. That is what the feel of the torso is like with a section running through the cleavage. But then waist down you see ruffles.. Like somebody described above, the ones you see in kid’s school for fancy dress competition.

Seriously not happening! Plus not liking the heels on her either. Would have liked heel design that went up till her ankles. And what’s with SO MUCH of glitter over legs???? Looks tacky! Its a bit too much.

  5. Wow. ..what a surprise ! My 5 year old niece wore a similar ruffled gown for her happy birthday couple of months ago! She looked truly the princess. Sonam not as much. Neck up she is good. But really, Sonam u need not dress like a 5 year old to look fashionable. There are several many age appropriate options available for u .

  6. how does one sit in that dress LOL I like the pun intended 😛
Dress would have been good for some photo shoot or magazine cover…. Make Up terrible for a L’Oreal Event…. Considering that she is the ambassador herself.

  7. The dress reminds me of “frocks” I rocked back in the 80’s when I was under 10 years old. The dress can’t figure out what it wants to be…a choli on top and a frilly skirt on the bottom. Sonam’s make up looks good and good for her being able to sit in it but it’s just one ugly outfit which she can’t salvage.

  8. Love the hair and the non-white make-up. Hate the glittery legs, satiny shoes and loathe the dress that makes her looks like a grey praying mantis!

I mean AJSK makes some spectacular crap, but this is the absolute worst. And proves that Sonam has no idea what is *good* fashion. She just hears the word “Fashion” and jumps to it, irrespective of whether it’s good or bad. Ugh.

    • it is beyond UGLY. Abu Sandeep make some disgusting looking clothes and the richie-rich folks wear it like the mice following behind pied piper [ case in point: the bachhans] This “dress/lantern” takes the cake though; it is like a bad joke from the 1980s… what was Rhea thinking?

  9. Wow! I wore almost similar silhouette dress on my third birthday( ya, ya i was a self claimed fashionista then), Sequin and frills and grey!

Atleast she should dress her age! It looks like some ‘Dare-thingie’. Quite uncool to give public appearance in such otherwise!

  10. This is literally playing dress-up the way kids do..
Except, most kids start rejecting such dresses naturally once they enter their teens.
Just because western fashion is new here, looks like everything goes.

Pity, coz she’s such a beautiful woman and can do so much better.

PS: those shoes should be burnt!
