  2. think aishwarya shdve worn this one and sonam..the red..
theres just something that explodes when red hits dusky skin.
aishwarya was looking too pale in red and sonams looking too dark in the pink.

  5. Yes, I too agree that Sonam is the next big Style Icon. Besides the grace and elegance she seems to have a great sense of fashion. the gal has the money and knows what to buy. I loved this version much better than the red I mean in the design aspect.

  6. Sonam is so sultry and gorgeous. This dress makes her look curvy, which is great but other than that its got nothing else going for it.

  7. I’m normally a total Deepika fan, so I never thought of Sonam as a fashion icon, but I must admit she looks beautiful here. The colour really suits her.

  8. She is elegent and her parents are spending some serious money on her wardrobe. Her hair is way over the top, she would look much better with a more simple hair style.

  9. I don’t care if I am the minority here and I definitely don’t care about random posters making personal attacks at me but I have never seen anything special about Sonam that every random person loooooooove to rave about..

First of all she always looks like any random desi girl off the street (nothing that will make me turn my head and look)

and most importantly her clothes and get up are extremely contrived and appears as if she reads all those fashion magazines or websites and chooses her clothes, without taking a moment to think it they will look good on her or if they will suit her body type..

anyhoo she doesn’t impress me here..

  10. didn’t like the gown on ash, don’t like it much on her… on both it seems ill-fitting. but sonam looks gorgeous! oh to be 18 (or 20) and have her wardrobe!

  11. hmmmm…honestly, I would expect a more chic look from her
it’s very promish (other than the fact that the dress itself is hot)
    not her best..it’s just so…princess-y

  13. @ Flower Power – She’s 23…but yeah, I’m jealous too :)

I love how she wore pink to the breast cancer awareness event… obvious choice but cute too!

  15. I think its just sooo funny how a western lady (liz) wears the indian outfit and the indian lady (sonam) wears the western outfit!!

Pathetic how all these indian stars act like its a embaressement to wear indian clothes at events thesedays!!!

just wish they’d be proud of what they are!

  16. @nik – Not going to attack you, thats your personal opinion and its fine. All I’ll say is that looks don’t have anything with being good at style or being a “fashionista”. Otherwise people would not be swooning over SJP. I for one appreciate that she puts some thought into her outfits and the overall look like accessories, hair, etc and basically has good style sense.

  17. @nik: No worries! Everyone has their opinion. Beauty is so subjective anyways. Sonam looks great…very elegant. I saw the picture on the poster (at the back)…super sexy!!

  19. Hmmmm….i think that both ladies have a similar pear-shaped body and we definitely know now that dress doesnt do much for that body type. Something about the illusion of large hips…..

  20. Ah but during the publicity for Saawariya, I think she was meant to portray that kind of look. I haven’t seen her in Indian much beyond Saawariya publicity, which is fine because I don’t think Indian celebrities should have to wear Indian all the time.

I don’t mind Sonam’s style. It’s nice and different. But, at the same time, I don’t necessarily think she looks awesome all the time. She should experiment with her hair. She had shoulder-length/slightly longer hair in school, and that kind of suited her more.

Also, I agree with the hip thing. This dress is unflattering because it makes your hips look wide. So not Sonam or Aish’s fault.

  21. nik! i TOTALLY agree with you! she is just to ordinary and has nothing special about her. also she’s is 6 feet tall! which girl is so tall, as in which actress

  22. ok USUALLY sonam looks good. but im sorry this dress is doing NOTHING for her. it is as if she blindly chose it from some fashion magazine and ust put it on without looking n th mirror to see whther it did aything for her body type. i think either she has gained weight or this seriously looks horrible on the ‘curvy’/pear shaped frame of hers
