June 23rd, 2010 at 4:16 pm . by PayalNow that we’ve seen the model, it almost feels like Ms. Kapoor was looking to imitate the look (except swapping the Alexander Wang duffle for a more on-trend shoulder Wang bag), the only difference being where the creamish-nude pumps worked on the model, the bordering-on-pink-nude ones on Ms. Kapoor didn’t quite.
Edgier pumps would’ve worked so much better for the look.

She looks good, but the shoes don’t match. Black pumps would’ve been much better.
Man, you guys are being a little too picky these days. She looks great. The pumps works alright too. Go pick on Celina Jaitley or Shriya Saran. They almost never get it right. :)
I agree with you! Sonam looks fabulous.
Ummm, I want to like it, but I don’t. The vest/jacket doesn’t work and the shirt inside looks sloppy. Not digging the bag either…

Oh you girls must be kidding….u didnt like those pumps on Sonam ?? adoore them ! Nude pumps are supposed to be pumps that match your skin tone and sonam’s shoes do. You cannot call the pumps that the model wore as nude ones. I think the model was in fact trying to match her shoes to one of the color patterns on her leggings (gray with green undertones) . Me thinks the ones on sonam are just perfect !
Not sure whether it’s a bad angle, but the look shortens her and we know that’s one thing she is not. Also, what’s with the make up?
I think the vest is not working with the lower half. If she had opted for a military styled jacket …she would have given us a smashing look.
I think she looks great! I like the shoes too. not the most flattering leggings but she pulls it off.
If you are going to copy a look, might as well do it right! This one is def NOT and avant- garde trend setter.
The Balmain-esque jacket on the model is the piece that makes the outfit. So if you remove that, its just another graphic legging look.

agree. i used to think she shows promise, but lately she seems to be copying looks head to toe off models/mannequins/hollywood celebs. that, and she’s a brand-slave. the true mark of a fashionista is a ability to mix and match, combine top of the line with street finds, and have your own quirky sense of style. she lacks all three.
but she still dresses better than the rest of the bandwagon, so maybe theres still hope!

I never seem to like her what ever costly designer dresses she may wear and how much ever makeup she may put there’s something missing.

Pumps or no pumps, I just can’t get over the sleeveless jacket with the sleeveless top inside. It’s just too tacky-nineties. And why, lady, would you match the lengths of your vest and tee in a casual look?

This is a ‘not quite’ for me. I concur with the nude pump comment. I’m also not a fan of the hair or makeup, I feel like softer makeup and more put together hair would have elevated the look.

Shes probably feeling the pressure to live up to her trendsetter/style icon tag. Unfortunately, shes not so much trend setter as much as trend follower. Seriously, leggings and a jacket??
PS Sass and Bide do some wonderful, edgy designs she could have chosen from and actually pulled off. I guess its great she doesn’t stick to the obvious designers?
i love her sense of style but lately i’m trying to find reasons to like her ….. trying too hard i guess ….
….. the leggings are cutting off her height, the lip color is awful , hair is a mess, the vest is definitely not working ……..
can we please go back to the effortless chic look we saw on her before ….. the fashion icon tag seems to be burdening her

nope. i agree with most of you above- she does look like her clothes wear her and not the other way round…she doesnt zing it up- AT ALL. To my mind, both Sonam and Piggy chops have the same problem- they’re very well turned out (i.e., well branded) but dont have natural beauty/charisma to round it all off…

I agree its too early to call Sonam a fashionista or trendsetter, but she’s way better turned out than PC -ALWAYS.
Even on her worst days, Sonam doesn’t look trashy — at the worst,she looks ‘trying too hard’.
But PC almost always manages to look trashy – with her short hemlines, meant for teenager outfits, ratty extensions, colored contacts and all!!
Okay she tried to copy the look from top to bottom from net-a-porter, sort off. In the end it only screams FASHION VICTIM.
i am curious to know how you girls dress. why don’t u sometimes post on what you wear? is one of u featured in ur mtv website with sunnies and heels or did u girls style her? either way, i want to laugh at ur sense of style, more like lack of it. nowhere close to fashion!

I noticed that while in the first 2 pics her makeup is garish i, in the third picture she looks more appropriate.. possibly the makeup was done keeping in mind the harsh lights she would have to face once the conference started.. if thats the case then its a thumbs up from me..
yes she could have tweaked her outfit in a million ways (diff shoes / shirt etc etc) but i rate this appearance many notches above the horrors inflicted on us by more “senior” artists such as PC, katrina and celina.. who IMHO as ex=beauty queens / models should have a better idea of how to carry themselves in public..

She has worn the boyfriend blazer look at 7 different public events in a span of 2 months. And the sleeveless jacket look twice till date. Me thinks she needs to give it a rest like NOW! really unoriginal. Her look above is linda tacky. the edginess the model had with the jacket is missing

Why does she always have soooo much make up on?? Does she have bad skin or something?? Her make up has started reminding me of celina jaitley.. Always look like they have layers of it on.. So much for l oreal :)
