  1. I’m not sure if Shweta carries that dress well, but I can see it looking great on some hollywood celebs. AJSK do some lovely, intricate embroidery and it’s great to see Indian designers reaching new horizons….truly global.

  2. I know it’s highly dramaticed, being a ramp and all, but this is how I imagine Shweta greeting guests at their family’s star-studded parties. “Ta-dahh!”

  3. Uff, nothing against Shweta Bachchan, but why is she made a show stopper. She is not a model nor has she made a name for herself in any other field.

  4. Ok, she looks like she was attending the casting call of a new snow white and the huntsman movie. She also looks like she would be rejected for those corny poses. Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla cannot look past white, over embellished designs for anything.

  5. Jaya Bachchan’s saree is so festive. Amitabh and Jaya is still their Diwali mood I suppose. That being said, I think Shweta’s outfit is horrible. Even AJSK Western line is so blingy. The outfit reminds me of Simon’s Cabaret I watched in Phuket, not in a good way of course.

  6. What? Auditioning for the role of evil white witch in The Chronicles of Narnia?
They can be excused for calling it ‘fashion’. But, you owe it to the readers of your blog: be honest and call it what it is: a costume, not ‘fashion’.

  7. Shweta is very attractive and knows how to wear clothes that look good on her, but this outfit is odd, especially what she has on her head and what is up with the strange pose. How exactly is this “western wear” looks totally OTT.

  8. Poor rich girl. she looks like a feathered version of Gwyneth Paltrow at the Oscars in the Tom Ford white cape gown. Yucky as hell; why do the Bachans keep wearing these over the hill designers again and again? The whole show was like a drag queen show at vegas. the boys should do lehengas only for rich girls.

  9. hahaahhaaa i thought this was a spoof show of some sort. this is hilarious. of course fashion comes in many forms, but somehow i dont think this is fashion. this is nepotism presented in a way that scary yet comical.

  10. AJSK launched a line, And SB is getting all the hugs and phone camera attention as though – she won an award or something, or as though she achieved great heights on walking on the ramp…

seriously,… what with the whole family standing next to the ramp and getting clickies via camera phone…

Geez – ask AJSK to send the amazing HQ piks from the official camera click,

  11. Hahaha!! The comments are sooo funny!! The outgit is all kinds of wierd. I like Jaya and Amitabh ji’s outfits. The whole family comes decked up and in full support for one ramp walk. So sweet. Wish yo see this kind of support in their bahu’s never ending achievements.

  12. Great dress, but Shweta is not show-stopper personality, it’s all because of his family – No offence, but she lacks in confidence which reflects on ramp.

  13. I am ROFL at the “Ta Da, I am here poses in her VS meets Ice Queen poses. She seems very awkward.Mommy Bachchan is dressed unusually festive and colorful.

  14. The outfit is really reminiscent of the white witch from Narnia. And the second ‘ta da’ pose is too ridiculous for words. I feel embarrassed for her!

  15. The rich girl gets to be a show stopper because of her connections and gets all the attention. Sr. Bachchan sure likes to wear some shiny stuff.

  16. These pics remind me of the ramp walk on RuPaul’s drag race show. Maybe that’s where she got her inspiration for those “poses”.

Also what’s up with that deliberately inciting comment about “no support for bahu”. People talk as if they eat at the bachchans’ dinner table and are privy to their family matters. Ridiculous,

  18. I think their inspiration was SJP from Sex and the city movie where she wears a bird on her head with her wedding dress. Drag as she looked SJP , she still looked better than sweta bacchan

  19. Hahahaha I love all the comments- “rupauls’s drag show, “family coming out for their little girl’s recital”, “dead bird on the head”. I am SOOOO embarassed for them. The outfit is hideous btw. And her parents are hugging her in pride as if it’s a big achievement to walk 20 feet.

  20. RIDICULOUS! SHE LOOKS LIKE AN OVERGROWN BABY IN A FROCK/MACI FROM THE BYGONE ERA! and parents are proud of it! look around AB AND JB YOU HAVE A BIGGER ACHIEVER AT HOME!!

  21. Think this was meant for a model. The intricate design seems completely lost. Pretty woman but this is not something she can pull off. Sorry Shweta

  22. So cringeworthy! Besides, in a world where they have access to the most beautiful woman in the world (Aishwarya Rai), why pick this lady?! Baffling.
