In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Wearing an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari with a gold floral applique statement blouse, Shruti walked the red carpet on day three of Cannes representing her upcoming movie, Singamithra.

Opting for a severe top bun and a winged eye, her look was finished out with a ring from Misho and a ear stud from Anomaly BY Anam.

We don’t have better pics of her from the red carpet and so it’s hard to really settle on whether I like it, but I can say, I like the fact that she dared to go the different route. I still think Natasha did more justice to this style of wearing the Abu sari. Her look felt more effortless.

P.S. Black seems to be the color of choice for Shruti for Cannes. See her other looks on our Instagram here.

She is at Cannes and is having a good time promoting her movie – which is a good thing. As for me she looks absolutely gorgeous in this beautiful work of art!
      Cheers!

  2. I loved her day-time look and this isn’t as terrible because well, she is stunning and can pull most things off. But overall; it’s a disappointing look from someone who is so edgy.

  3. She looks fantastic. She has the body & height to pull off such quirk. Love that she is there at Cannes. Hope she gets accolades like her Legendary Dad.

  4. The entire outfit might have looked better on someone taller like Deepika solely because of her height. On Shruti Hassan, the saree should have been simpler to keep the blouse as the main focus. Or the drape should have been different. As of now, the costumey blouse and the pleated saree are looking a bit much, together.

  5. She looks fabulous neck up but hate that blouse and fringed saree…I personally think Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla has no place in a sophisticated platform like Cannes.

    • I agree with you about the need to ditch AJSK but Cannes is not a sophisticated platform, not by a mile. Just look at the amount of poor taste on display on the red carpet for evidence, in fact, the Indian ladies are among the classiest. Hollywood has brought the trashy side.

  6. Other than that one big gold flower, I quite like this look. A sleeker black sari minus the frilly bits would have been way sexier.
